Over the past week, the cherry blossoms have suddenly bloomed, attracting a large number of tourists to visit Da Lat City (Lam Dong) early in the spring, even though it is still half a month until the Lunar New Year 2025.
On the morning of January 14, despite the unfavorable weather and fog, hundreds of locals and tourists still flocked to Cau Dat tea hill (Xuan Truong commune) to see cherry blossoms and take photos. This area has thousands of cherry blossom trees planted among oolong tea plantations, open for visitors to visit freely. It was noted that in areas with many cherry blossoms such as Cau Dat (Xuan Truong commune), Tram Hanh commune, Xuan Tho, Trai Mat... a series of trees have bloomed, showing off their brilliant pink color.
Although the weather was not sunny, many young people, families, and couples taking wedding photos still took the opportunity to capture beautiful moments under the blooming cherry blossoms. Nguyen Nhu Quynh (a tourist from Binh Duong) said that when she heard that the cherry blossoms were blooming early, Quynh and her friends immediately traveled to Da Lat before Tet. According to Quynh, traveling early in the spring helped her to both see the flowers and comfortably go out and explore the typical cold season at the end of the year in Da Lat.
According to locals, the cherry blossoms in this tea hill area were planted more than 30 years ago. This year, because the flowers bloomed early, for the past week or so, many tourists have flocked to visit and enjoy the flowers every day.
In addition to Cau Dat area, many cherry blossom trees in Xuan Tho commune, Trai Mat area (Ward 11) have begun to bloom. In the center of Da Lat city, there are currently only a few cherry blossom trees blooming, and it is predicted that in the next 2 weeks, they will bloom simultaneously in time for tourists to visit during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
For the upcoming Tet holiday, the People's Committee of Da Lat City also issued a directive requiring units and localities to prepare conditions to welcome and serve tourists, including: increasing support and guidance for organizations and individuals doing tourism business and tourism services to ensure conditions for facilities, human resources, and improve service quality; strengthening inter-sectoral inspection, rectifying tourism business activities, resolutely preventing and strictly handling violations according to the law, especially acts of commercial fraud, competition, solicitation, price gouging, and profiteering from tourists...
