The Investigation Police Agency of Chi Linh City Police (Hai Duong) has just initiated a criminal case, prosecuting 6 suspects for the crime of illegal drug trafficking and use. These 6 subjects are related to a drug den in Gia Binh District (Bac Ninh).

The 6 defendants prosecuted include: Le Van Cuong (born in 1987, residing in An Hung commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city); Nguyen Trung Nam (born in 1990, residing in Cao Duc commune, Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh); Bui Van Viet (born in 1995, residing in Truc Thai commune, Truc Ninh district, Nam Dinh); Nguyen Van Nghiep (born in 1993), Vu Quoc Viet (born in 1996), Luong Ngoc An (born in 1999), all residing in Pha Lai ward (Chi Linh city). Of which, Cuong and Nam were prosecuted for illegal drug trafficking, the remaining 4 subjects were prosecuted for illegal drug use.
At 11:00 a.m. on May 24, a working group of Chi Linh City Police in coordination with Pha Lai Ward Police inspected Nguyen Van Nghiep's residence in residential area No. 5 Thach Thuy and discovered that Nghiep had shown signs of illegal drug use. Through the investigation, Nghiep confessed that he had previously used drugs with several other people at Luong Ngoc An's house. Nghiep voluntarily handed over a glass pipe with methamphetamine still on the top of the pipe.
During an emergency search of Luong Ngoc An's residence in residential area No. 4 Binh Giang (Pha Lai ward), the police discovered and seized a plastic bag containing drugs and a set of drug use tools.
At the police station, Vu Quoc Viet and Bui Van Viet confessed to buying drugs from Nguyen Trung Nam. Expanding the investigation, Chi Linh City Police determined that Nam bought drugs from Le Van Cuong at Cuong's lodging in Cau Dao village, Nhan Thang commune, Gia Binh district (Bac Ninh) for 500,000 VND.
On May 24, the working group of Chi Linh City Police arrested Le Van Cuong to investigate the illegal drug trafficking. Cuong had 2 previous convictions for illegal drug trafficking. Nam had 1 previous conviction for illegal drug possession. Nghiep had 3 previous convictions for resisting law enforcement officers, intentionally causing injury and destroying property.
The arrest and prosecution of Le Van Cuong and the above group by Chi Linh City Police contributed to the destruction of a drug den in Cau Dao village, Nhan Thang commune, Gia Binh district (Bac Ninh) - bordering Chi Linh City, and received a letter of thanks from the local people.
