Safety certificate of Nhon - Hanoi railway system

System safety certification is one of the important procedures of the project which has been completed after an independent assessment by the System Safety Certification Consultant, Apave Bureau Veritas - Certifer Consulting Joint Venture (ABC Consulting).

On July 12, the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board announced: On July 10, the Apave Bureau Veritas - Certifer Consulting Joint Venture (ABC Consulting) officially granted the system safety certificate for the elevated section of the Hanoi urban railway pilot project, Nhon - Hanoi station section.

System safety certification is one of the important procedures of the project which has been completed after the independent assessment process of ABC Consulting. System safety assessment and certification is carried out according to European standards and Vietnamese regulations. The Apave - Bureau Veritas - Certifer Joint Venture Consultant was selected and accompanied the project from the construction process, carried out the assessment and presented in the assessment reports. Based on the assessments, the consulting unit issued a system safety certificate.

Next, the system safety certification dossier needs to be presided over by the Vietnam Railway Authority, in coordination with the Vietnam Register and the Department of Construction Management and Quality of Transport Works - Ministry of Transport. Previously, the Investor worked with units of the Ministry of Transport and received very close coordination and agreed on an action plan with the expected goal of completing the appraisal and acceptance of the system safety dossier in July 2024.

In addition, the proposal for granting an Environmental License for the elevated section of the project has also been submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for appraisal. The Ministry has established an Environmental License Appraisal Council, which is expected to complete the appraisal work in July 2024.

After having the project acceptance records, specialized construction acceptance records (fire prevention and fighting, environment), and system safety assessment records, finally, the State Inspection Council will inspect and approve the acceptance results as the basis for putting the route into commercial operation in the near future.

Achieving the system safety certification is a testament to the continuous efforts of the stakeholders in ensuring the quality and safety of the project. The Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board and relevant agencies are continuing to work closely to complete the final steps, ensuring the urban railway line goes into safe operation, contributing to improving traffic and enhancing the quality of life for the people of the capital.

The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway project No. 3 is one of the strategic projects in fundamentally solving the problem of traffic congestion that the road system cannot meet in Hanoi. When put into operation, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway is expected to be a green solution to reduce traffic congestion, urban pollution, and improve the quality of life for people in the western area of ​​Hanoi.

The route passes through 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations with a total length of 12.5 km, of which the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5 km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi Railway Station) is 4 km long. Route of the route: starting point Nhon - along National Highway 32 - Dien Bridge - Mai Dich - intersection with Ring Road 3 - Cau Giay (intersection with Ring Road 2) - Kim Ma - Cat Linh - Quoc Tu Giam - end point Hanoi Railway Station (on Tran Hung Dao Street, in front of Hanoi Railway Station).
