Chairman of Marie Curie School Board (Hanoi) adopts 22 children in Lang Nu

After deciding to adopt all children (whether orphans or with parents) who survived the historic flash flood in Lang Nu, teacher Nguyen Xuan Khang, Chairman of the Marie Curie School Board (Hanoi), immediately began to carry out the necessary work.

From September 30 to October 1, Mr. Khang sent a group of school officials to Lang Nu to visit families with children who were lucky enough to survive the terrible flood, to the hospital where the children were being treated, and to each school where Lang Nu students were studying to convey their feelings and love from Marie Curie teachers and students. The working group also surveyed and made a list of children who escaped the flash flood to include in his care plan.

In Nu village, there are children whose families are half-dead after natural disasters. Their fathers lost their mothers. They survived but their brothers and sisters were swept away by the flood. Some are still missing, and their bodies have not been found to complete the final procedures of their lives...

According to the calculations of the leader of Marie Curie School, the project can only be completed in 15 years because the youngest children on the list will be 18 years old, and he will be 90 years old. "I am the one who wants to live the most now! The grandfather of 22 Lang Nu children hopes to live at least 15 more years to see all of them grow up," Mr. Khang said, choking up.

But he also said immediately: "Even though grandpa has to go far away, his children will still be warm, well-fed and well-educated as he wished when he decided to adopt them. His family and Marie Curie School will continue to fulfill that wish"...

For teacher Nguyen Xuan Khang, adopting each child does not only mean sending them a monthly sum of money to cover their education, but also monitoring and providing timely support throughout their growth. Therefore, the list includes not only the name, school, information about relatives, sponsors, etc. of each child, but also the name and contact information of their homeroom teacher.
