Under the advice of authorities and survey units, households in Lang Nu, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district (Lao Cai province) agreed to choose a location to build a new residence.
On the evening of September 15, Lao Cai provincial authorities held a meeting with the people of Lang Nu to come up with a plan to choose a location to build a new residence.
With high consensus, the people of Lang Nu have finalized a plan to build a new resettlement area in the sim hill area, about 2km from the old village. The location of this land has high terrain, is safe, convenient for arranging transportation infrastructure, electricity and water, and is spacious.
In the immediate future, Lao Cai province plans to build 40 houses for 40 families affected by the recent flash floods and landslides.
Previously, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, and the survey team visited some locations planned for resettlement for households in Lang Nu. At the same time, the team also consulted with local people about information on hydrological conditions, local customs and practices, and calculated architectural design options for houses to ensure disaster prevention.
According to the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, on September 16, relevant agencies and units will deploy vehicles and human resources to speed up construction progress, determined to complete resettlement before December 31, 2024.
