The first Ferrari given to Michael Schumacher when he joined the Scuderia Ferrari racing team in 1996 is going up for auction.
Sotheby's is preparing to put the Ferrari F355 GTS that once belonged to the legendary Michael Schumacher up for auction.
This was the first Ferrari given to Michael Schumacher when he joined the Scuderia Ferrari racing team in 1996.
Sotheby's auction house said the F355 GTS, personally configured by Michael Schumacher, was delivered to the legend in late April 1996, just two days after he finished second at the European Grand Prix.
Schumacher chose to equip the Ferrari F355 GTS with a traditional 6-speed manual transmission instead of the semi-automatic transmission option fitted to F1 racing cars.
The ODO meter on the car shows that the Ferrari F355 GTS has rolled nearly 47,300 km. The back of the driver's seat has the signature of the legend Michael Schumacher.
The current owner of the F355 GTS acquired the car in 2004 at an event during the Monaco Historic Grand Prix.
In 2020, the Ferrari F355 GTS received Ferrari Classiche certification, ensuring that the car retains its original chassis, transmission, bodywork, and exterior color scheme from the factory.
