On the afternoon of May 30, Binh Thanh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City, blocked off, examined the scene, and investigated the cause of a house fire in an alley on Nguyen Cuu Van Street, Ward 17, which left one person dead and many others injured.
According to many people present at the scene, at around 7:00 a.m. on May 30, a large fire broke out inside a house in an alley on Nguyen Cuu Van Street, Ward 17, Binh Thanh District.
Discovering the fire, many people nearby immediately shouted, reported to the authorities and used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but could not control it.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team, Binh Thanh District Police, mobilized forces to both extinguish the fire and approach the scene to bring people still inside the house out.
The fire was extinguished shortly after. Through initial inspection, the authorities discovered one deceased person named NVN (18 years old), who worked as a security guard at this house. The fire also injured 5 people, including 2 employees, 3 relatives of the homeowner and many properties were burned.
According to locals, the house is rented as the headquarters of a company specializing in recruiting security guards.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by Binh Thanh District authorities.
