Besides traditional Tet decorative plants such as peach and kumquat trees, the market also has many unique plants and fruits such as Yen Tu bell peach, mai flower, dragon and phoenix coconut, which attract customers.

For about 2 years now, Yen Tu bell peach has been favored by people because this flower brings luck in money and power to the homeowner's family. Bell peach is grown in Yen Tu mountain area (Quang Ninh)

Yen Tu bell peach is attractive because of its small flower buds, which gradually develop into large buds and then bloom into bell-like flowers. The flowers are very durable, and can stay fresh for more than a month. The price of each bell peach branch is from 2.5 to 3 million VND.

The golden buffalo “carrying” kumquats costs from 500,000 to 1 million VND/pot and is also loved by many people. The kumquat pot is compact in size, longer than 60 cm, about 25 cm high and wide, easy to transport and suitable for display in small apartments and family spaces.

Red grapefruit costs from 100,000 - 170,000 VND/fruit. Grapefruit has a characteristic mild aroma, is juicy, has a sweet taste, and the grapefruit segments are crispy and not crushed. According to folk beliefs, there will be some types of fruit offered to the altar on the first day of the month to bring luck and peace to the homeowner, and red grapefruit is one of them.

“In addition to the golden coconuts with calligraphy, this year there are also dragon and phoenix coconuts with calligraphy. The dragon and phoenix images are made from silicon, then glued to the coconut and covered with green paint. With their unique shape and eye-catching colors, these coconuts are popular with customers,” said Nguyen Van Dung, a shop owner at the flower market on Ton Duc Thang Street (Hai Duong City).

The red apples grafted with white peony are priced at 350,000 VND/tree. Each tree is grafted with 6 apples with the wish of much fortune.

Besides peach blossoms, kumquats, etc., this year’s Tet market has seen the appearance of ancient Sa Pa mai flower pots. Mai flower has rough roots with moss covering the trunk, creating an ancient look, and the flowers are pure white. Each pot costs from 2.5 to 3 million VND.
