Key political press agencies must be more decisive, effective, and exemplary in streamlining their apparatus.

After streamlining the organizational apparatus, key press agencies must be more determined and implement Resolution 18 exemplary. Not only streamlining but also improving the effectiveness of propaganda work.

Become a model in streamlining organizational structure

On the morning of March 26 in Hanoi, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia chaired a working session with five key political press agencies including: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam News Agency.

Here, Mr. Tong Van Thanh, Director of the Press and Publishing Department, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, said: After the Central Committee issued Resolution 18 on "Some issues on continuing to innovate and streamline the political system's organizational apparatus to make it lean and operate effectively and efficiently", all 5 key political press agencies have urgently, seriously and resolutely carried out the arrangement and streamlining of the organization and apparatus.

The apparatus of Nhan Dan Newspaper has been reduced from 25 affiliated units to 15 units.

After the reorganization, the Communist Magazine had an Editorial Board and 13 affiliated department-level units; only retaining the room-level units in units that were truly necessary.

Vietnam News Agency reduces 4 department-level and equivalent units (from 26 to 22 units); ends the operation of the News Agency Television Center; studies restructuring and rearranging the News Agency Media Development Center.

The Voice of Vietnam has reorganized and streamlined its organizational structure to 21 units (excluding permanent agencies abroad established in accordance with the law). Compared to Decree No. 92/2022/ND-CP, the organizational structure of the station has been reduced by 5 subordinate units.

Vietnam Television reduced 6 department-level units (20.69%) and 45 department-level units (21.95%) compared to the beginning of 2025.

“Reorganizing and streamlining the organizational apparatus is a very big and complicated task. However, all five key political press agencies are exemplary, becoming models in streamlining the organizational apparatus; demonstrating determination and innovative ways of doing things,” affirmed the Director of the Press and Publication Department.

Mr. Le Hai Binh, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, highly appreciated the four roles of key press agencies: Pioneers in policy communication, protecting ideological foundations and foreign information work; Exemplary in streamlining despite many challenges; Main force in propagating the streamlining revolution; Core in the new battle of Vietnam's revolutionary press.

“Key political press agencies need to continue to promote their role in the propaganda campaign in the apparatus streamlining revolution. Because the issue of unified perception and ideological consensus is an extremely important condition. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism wishes to coordinate with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department and press agencies to develop and implement key communication campaigns in the coming time,” Mr. Binh shared.

Need to be more aggressive in the lean revolution

Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia commended key political press agencies for taking the lead in streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18.

“We are living in the atmosphere of 50 years of the Great Spring Victory. 50 years ago, we had a rapid, bold, unexpected, and decisive revolution. And now we are carrying out a revolution in streamlined, efficient, effective, and effective organization. In this revolution, the Central Party agencies and the main central press agencies are taking the lead,” said the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.

He also noted that after streamlining the organizational apparatus, key political press agencies must be "more drastic, synchronous, and effective, implementing Resolution 18 exemplary. Not only streamlining, but most importantly, improving the quality and effectiveness of ideological and propaganda work".

Acknowledging the recommendations and proposals of key press agencies in the work of streamlining and streamlining the apparatus, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission proposed upholding the spirit of "only discussing action, not retreating" that the Prime Minister has repeatedly noted.

“The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism should invite government leaders to chair the meeting and invite relevant ministries and sectors to participate to immediately remove obstacles for press agencies,” he recommended.

The Press and Publication Department assessed that in the information and propaganda work on the implementation of Resolution No. 18 of the Central Executive Committee, key political press agencies have implemented methodically, creating a mainstream information flow, leading and orienting, contributing to unifying awareness within the entire Party, and trust and consensus among the people.

The programs and articles have promoted the role, responsibility, strong political determination of Party committees and authorities, and the spirit of solidarity and unity in innovation, arrangement, and improvement of the apparatus of the political system; encouraged each cadre, party member, civil servant, and public employee to promote a sense of responsibility, be ready to sacrifice personal interests for the common good, and not be confused or wavering in the face of false information, information that is provocative and divisive in the process of implementing innovation and streamlining the apparatus.
