China's largest electric vehicle brand, BYD, sells the Atto 3 for 766-866 million VND including the battery, slightly higher than the VinFast VF 6.
BYD Atto 3 has been taking orders for nearly a month, but the company has only just announced the price, July 18. The B+ crossover imported from China is sold in two versions, including Dynamic for 766 million VND and Premium for 886 million VND, including the battery.
The BYD Atto 3's dimensions of length x width x height are 4,455 x 1,875 x 1,615 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. These parameters are almost equivalent to the VinFast VF 7 with dimensions of 4,545 x 1,890 x 1,635 mm, a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, and larger than the VF 6 with dimensions of 4,238 x 1,820 x 1,594 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,730 mm.
Compared to VinFast VF 6, which has two versions, including 6S at 765 million VND, 6 Plus at 855 million VND, the price of Atto 3 is 1 million VND and 11 million VND higher respectively.
Compared to gasoline cars, BYD Atto 3 is much more expensive than pure B-size CUV models such as Kia Seltos (599-799 million VND), Toyota Yaris Cross (599-705 million VND)... At the same time, it is cheaper than the best-selling B+ model in the segment, Toyota Corolla Cross (820-905 million VND).
Atto 3 has LED headlights, front/rear disc brakes as standard equipment. Premium version has adaptive headlights. Rear LED lights are stylishly designed, extending to both sides with LED strips. 17-inch wheels in standard version and 18-inch in high version. Electric folding rearview mirrors with heating function in both versions.
The interior of the Atto 3 has a new design compared to traditional gasoline cars. The design of details such as the electronic gear lever, air-conditioning vents, speakers, and 3 nylon strings simulating guitar strings on the front doors are all rare in car models that have appeared in Vietnam.
All seats on the Atto 3 are synthetic leather with contrasting stitching for a sporty look. Automatic air conditioning, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, 6-way power driver's seat and 4-way manual passenger seat.
The Atto 3's central screen measures 12.8 inches and 15.6 inches on the two versions from low to high, respectively, and can rotate 90 degrees to display vertically or horizontally. Behind the steering wheel is a 5-inch LCD clock. Many other equipment on the car such as interior lighting, reading lights, USB charging ports in the front and rear seats. The sunroof is an equipment only available on the Premium version.
The battery pack on the BYD Atto 3 has two levels, including 49.92 kWh - 410 km range on the Dynamic version and 60.48 kWh - 480 km range on the Premium version. The motor on both versions is located on the front axle, with a capacity of 201 horsepower and a torque of 310 Nm.
BYD said it will not build its own public charging stations like VinFast. Customers will charge their cars at service stations of third-party suppliers, similar to what MG (part of SAIC) is doing with its MG4 electric vehicle. Along with the 2.2 kW portable charger that comes with the car, the company also offers a 7 kW charger.
In terms of safety technology, BYD has electronic balance, downhill assist, traction control, tire pressure sensor, electronic handbrake, automatic brake hold, rear camera as standard. The Premium version is more advanced with driving assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, front/rear collision warning, deviation warning and lane keeping assist, 360-degree camera... The number of airbags is 4 in the low version and 6 in the high version.
In addition to Atto 3, the company also announced prices for other models, the Dolphin (659 million VND) in the B-segment hatchback segment and the Seal (1.119-1.359 billion VND) in the D-segment sedan segment. All are pure electric.
