The match between Brighton and MU in the earliest round 2 of the Premier League ended with a dramatic victory for the home team thanks to Joao Pedro's decisive goal in the 5th minute of injury time.

Brighton:Welbeck (32'), Joao Pedro (90+5')
MU:Amad Diallo (60')
Entering the earliest match of the second round of the Premier League, home team Brighton made only one change from the victory over Everton last weekend. Billy Gilmour, who is rumored to be moving to Napoli, returned to the starting line-up to replace Mat Wieffer and partner James Milner. Meanwhile, away team MU kept the same line-up as the win over Fulham on the opening day of the season. This means that new striker Joshua Zirkzee still has to wait to start even though he scored in the opening match when he came on early in the second half.
The heavy rain before the match and only slightly reduced when the match started caused both teams to enter the match without having the best ball handling. Brighton, as usual, proactively pushed up the squad to press to surprise the visitors. However, MU in the new season is showing very good handling in a small area as well as escaping the press.
From their situations of escaping the pressing, MU organized many attacks to threaten Brighton's goal. A dangerous situation came to Amad Diallo in the 12th minute, but this player missed a very good opportunity, when he entered the penalty area to receive a cross from Diogo Dalot but his shot from the 11m line was inaccurate.
In the 30th minute, Mount escaped the pressing very well to pass the ball up to Diallo, but in a 3 vs 2 situation, the Ivorian player made a pass to Rashford, causing MU's counter-attack opportunity to pass away regrettably. And right after this missed situation, MU had to pay the price when Brighton in a rare dangerous attacking situation scored a goal.
In the 32nd minute, from a very dangerous cross from the right wing by Joao Pedro, the ball went through the forest of players in the penalty area and towards Mitoma, where the Japanese player crossed for Danny Welbeck to tap the ball into the net of his former team, scoring the only goal in the first half.
In the second half, coach Ten Hag sent Zirkzee on to replace Mount, just like he did in the opening match against Fulham. However, when these changes did not create a breakthrough, the Red Devils almost had to pay the price. In the 52nd minute, Brighton had a situation where the ball was deployed very quickly from goalkeeper Jason Steele's position to the middle of the field for Pedro to accelerate before passing the ball to veteran James Milner to enter the penalty area to finish off Andre Onana but Dalot cleared the ball right on the goal line to clear the danger.
In the following minutes, Brighton still had more dangerous opportunities, in which Welbeck was the focus of attention, when this player had two headers threatening Onana's goal. Notably, in the 59th minute, the former MU player finished the ball to find the right edge between the crossbar and the post.
Unable to take advantage of the opportunity, Brighton had to pay the price just 1 minute later, when Amad Diallo broke the offside trap and penetrated the penalty area before turning the ball past two defenders of the home team before finishing with a tricky shot to equalize the score for MU. This is considered a gift from the Ivorian player for his stepmother who passed away in the middle of the week.
Amad Diallo was mentioned again, when he had a favorable overlap for Bruno Fernandes in the 70th minute for the MU captain to make a cross for Garnado to finish close to the goal into Brighton's net. However, VAR denied the goal, when it was considered that striker Zirkzee had touched the ball in an offside position.
During the remaining time of the match, although both teams made many changes in search of an equalizer, there were not many finishing situations created. It seemed that both sides would leave the field with a draw, but the surprise came in the 5th minute of extra time. Substitute Simon Adingra had a cross that Joao Pedro, who was unmarked, headed the ball past Onana to score the final goal of 2-1.
