The Ministry of Construction requested the People's Committees of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to clarify the content of press reports on the situation of foreigners residing long-term in social housing projects in these localities.
The above directive was issued by the Ministry of Construction when the press reported that many foreigners rented and lived long-term in social housing projects in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh - places originally intended for workers and low-income people.
Citing Clause 15, Article 75 of Decree No. 100/2024 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Housing Law on the development and management of social housing, the Ministry requested the People's Committees of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces to direct competent agencies to inspect, clarify and resolve, ensuring proper implementation of legal provisions.
The Ministry requested localities to report the results of the settlement before October 3.
The People's Committees of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces have also directed departments, branches and localities to clarify the situation of foreigners living in social housing projects.
Mr. Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee, assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, Viet Yen Town People's Committee, Yen Dung District People's Committee to review, inspect, resolve and handle violations (if any).
The leaders of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee requested to report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and inform the press before October 5.
In addition, the Department of Construction will coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the People's Committee of Viet Yen town to inspect and work with investors of the projects: Van Trung social housing area (invested by Fugiang Company Limited); social housing project for workers in Noi Hoang commune (invested by the joint venture of Fuji Company Limited and Vinaco Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company) to review and comprehensively detect existing problems and difficulties (regarding land, investment, construction, management, operation, use, etc.), and handle violations (if any).
Then, agree on solutions (clearly define the work, the subject performing the work...) to complete the projects to ensure the approved progress. The results will be reported to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee before October 10.
