Cao Bang Provincial Party Secretary Tran Hong Minh was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term.
On the afternoon of November 28, Comrade Tran Hong Minh, Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term.
Comrade Minh takes over the position of head of the transport sector, replacing Comrade Nguyen Van Thang, who was recently approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Finance.
Comrade Tran Hong Minh, 57 years old, is a doctor of engineering, from My Duc district, Hanoi; is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.
He has been associated with the Engineering Officer School for 20 years, from the position of student to lecturer, head of department, deputy head of faculty, head of the River Bridge and Road Faculty.
Since 2009, he has been the Brigade Commander of Brigade 249, then Deputy Chief of Staff of the Corps, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, and then Commander of the Engineering Corps.
Since May 2016, Comrade Minh has held strategic leadership positions, including Deputy Commander of Military Region 1, Commander of Military Region 1, and Director of the General Department of Defense Industry. From September 2021 to present, he has held the position of Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee.
The Ministry of Transport is a government agency responsible for state management of road, rail, inland waterway, maritime, and civil aviation transport nationwide.
Assisting the new Minister Tran Hong Minh are four deputy ministers, including comrades Le Anh Tuan, Nguyen Duy Lam, Nguyen Xuan Sang, and Nguyen Danh Huy.
