On August 7, after more than a week of surgery to remove a uterine tumor, the health of Ms. Phan Thi T. (41 years old, in An Lam commune, Nam Sach) has improved well.

Ms. T. was able to sit up by herself, the surgical wound was dry, and her abdomen was slightly painless and not distended. Ms. T. is expected to be discharged on August 9.

Ms. T. said that recently, her belly was as big as if she was pregnant and shifted to the left side. Thinking that her body had gained weight, Ms. T. bought weight loss pills on her own, but her weight and belly did not improve. After that, Ms. T. felt a dull pain in her left abdomen, so she went for an ultrasound and discovered a tumor.

On July 31, Ms. T. was taken to Hai Duong Obstetrics Hospital by her family, where doctors ordered surgery to remove the tumor. Although she could have been transferred to the Central level because this was a special surgery, the patient's family wished to have Director Nguyen Xuan Huy perform the surgery himself. After more than 1 hour of surgery, the surgical team successfully removed the tumor from the patient's abdomen.

The fibroid weighed more than 3 kg, measuring 25x35 cm, equivalent to the uterus of a 7-month pregnant woman. This is the largest uterine fibroid surgery ever performed in the field of gynecological surgery at Hai Duong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.
