Tottenham are set to receive a huge offer from Bayern Munich as the German champions continue their pursuit of England captain Harry Kane.
Bayern have seen their first two bids rejected by Tottenham, but the Bavarians remain confident of reaching an agreement this summer. While Tottenham are desperate to keep Kane at the club for the foreseeable future, the 29-year-old is reportedly open to a move to Germany.
According to Football Insider, Bayern will return with "a new and more attractive offer", with the figure higher than the record transfer fee Spurs received from Real Madrid for Gareth Bale (£85m) in 2013.
Losing Kane would be a huge blow for Tottenham, but they are in a difficult position with his contract expiring next summer. The 29-year-old scored 30 Premier League goals last season and was one of Europe's top scorers despite Spurs' inconsistent form.
New manager Ange Postecoglou recently discussed Kane's future in the hope of finding a solution soon: "I think, for everyone involved, we don't want to wait too long. That's not good for anyone. Not good for Harry, not good for the club. But I also don't want to put a deadline because it will put more pressure. The fact is, he is still a Tottenham player."
“It’s not like his contract is going to end and he has to make a decision. He has another year. So I’m not comfortable but I’m not putting pressure on him or anyone else at the club. But I also don’t think any of us want this situation to go on for too long,” Postecoglou said.
