As a bridge between the people and the authorities, Hai Duong press has conveyed the people's legitimate thoughts and aspirations to contribute to the development of many policies for the benefit of the people.
Stick to life
In 2023, the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council issued 15 resolutions to implement social security policies, the most ever. Many recommendations from people contributing to policies were recorded by reporters, reflected in the press, conveyed to authorities and included in policies, then returned to serve practical life.
Some notable highlights through the press's reflection on policy can be mentioned as considering increasing tuition fees, tuition support, regulating tuition levels in public educational institutions, food hygiene and safety in hospitals, schools, signs of overcharging...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council commented: "A lot of information from the press, especially Hai Duong newspaper, helps the Standing Committee and committees of the Provincial People's Council have more documents in surveying, monitoring, and synthesizing people's opinions. This is also a practical basis for delegates to propose the Provincial People's Council to issue appropriate policies," Ms. Huong shared.
Grasping the reality, reporter Dang Ngoc Tien of Hai Duong Radio and Television Station realized the frustration of people when encountering many difficulties in the procedures for granting and exchanging land use right certificates. Mr. Tien and his colleagues reflected this content through the station's programs. Taking note of information from the press, the Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial People's Council organized a conference to supervise the work of granting land use right certificates, house ownership rights and other assets attached to land in the province. Thereby, solutions were proposed to remove obstacles to facilitate the granting of land use right certificates to people. "This is an issue arising from real life that reporters recorded and truthfully reflected. Thanks to that, the legitimate aspirations of the people were listened to and resolved by the authorities," Mr. Tien shared.
The fanpage of Nam Sach District Radio Station currently has more than 20,000 followers. Along with the radio channel, the station's fanpage has become an information channel that many people in Nam Sach are interested in. People's comments and messages on the fanpage are also regularly recorded by the unit and reported to competent authorities in the district and communes and towns. Nam Sach District leaders regularly update and grasp people's thoughts through this channel. Thanks to that, people's opinions and recommendations are conveyed quickly and accurately. This helps local authorities and Party committees to have appropriate and timely instructions in accordance with reality, responding to people's thoughts and aspirations.
Make a change
In November 2023, according to the overall plan for the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023 - 2025, Hong Phuc commune merged with Kien Quoc commune (Ninh Giang) and is expected to take the new name Kien Hong. Some cadres, party members and people are concerned about this name. Understanding that concern, Hai Duong Newspaper reporters discussed with some people who are knowledgeable about Chinese characters and language, promptly reflecting that the proposal to name the new commune Kien Hong is not appropriate.
After this article, Ninh Giang district organized a workshop to name the new administrative unit after the arrangement of the two communes. Party members, senior citizens, voters and people of the two communes highly agreed to name the new commune Kien Phuc. The People's Councils of the two communes and Ninh Giang district approved and agreed on the proposed plan when merging the two communes of Hong Phuc and Kien Quoc, the new commune will be named Kien Phuc.
Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ninh Giang District People's Council, assessed that the involvement of Hai Duong Newspaper was very reasonable and timely. "The newspaper promptly reflected and conveyed the people's thoughts. This has contributed to helping the resolutions and policies when issued receive high consensus and agreement from the People's Council delegates at both levels and satisfy the people," Ms. Thuy shared.
In Hai Duong City, residents of residential area No. 8, Viet Hoa Ward are excited because there will soon be a new cultural house. Previously, the Emagazine work "Disadvantaged villages and residential areas without cultural houses"Hai Duong Newspaper reported that party members here have to hold party cell activities at the Party cell secretary's house because the area does not have a cultural house.
After the press's reflection and the determination of the People's Council delegates and leaders of Viet Hoa ward, the problem in handing over land to build the cultural house of zone 8 has been resolved. At the Special Session held last May, the People's Council of Viet Hoa ward approved the investment policy of 2.9 billion VND to build a 2-storey cultural house of the zone and is expected to start construction in the 4th quarter.
The above are just a few of the many practical examples showing positive changes when the press and people contribute to policy making and promulgation.
