After about 40 days of construction, the 'great unity' house was handed over to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lang in Mac Binh village, Thai Tan commune (Nam Sach), where 7 people had to stay with others after the storm.
On the morning of November 15, the Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Sach district and the People's Committee of Thai Tan commune coordinated to hand over a "great solidarity" house to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lang in Mac Binh village.
The house was built on the old house foundation with an area of 75 m² including 1 living room, 4 bedrooms and auxiliary works. In front of the house is a 50 m² wide yard also paved with concrete.
The total cost of building the house is nearly 300 million VND, of which over 240 million VND in cash was donated by the Nam Sach District Relief Committee, Thai Tan Commune, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, and many other agencies, units, and individuals. The remaining amount was converted from construction materials sponsored by a number of domestic and foreign businesses and individuals.
Ms. Lang's family is near-poor. All 7 members of her family have intellectual disabilities, limited working capacity and have lived in a dilapidated level 4 house for many years.
On September 7, storm No. 3 completely blew off the roof of the house above, with no possibility of restoration.
On September 25, leaders of Hai Duong Newspaper directly visited, encouraged and gave 2 million VND to support Ms. Lang's family.
A day later, Hai Duong newspaper published an article“A family of 7 in Thai Tan commune (Nam Sach) still has to stay at someone else's place after the storm”, calling on agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists to join hands to help Ms. Lang's family.
