Mr. Pham Van Thanh is the first President of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities.

On the morning of October 7, in Hanoi, the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities, term 2024 - 2029, opened with the participation of 133 delegates representing over 2 million young people with disabilities nationwide.

Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, presented the Decision to establish the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities to Mr. Trinh Cong Thanh, Head of the Campaign Committee for the Establishment of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities.

Attending the first session of the Congress were Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam; Permanent Vice President of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Kim Quy.

The congress was attended by 133 official delegates, including 59 female delegates and 74 male delegates. There were 15 delegates from ethnic minorities; 3 delegates were religious followers. There were 18 delegates who were party members, 87 delegates who were union members. The average age of the congress was 32.5 years old. The youngest delegate was 16 years old, Mr. Ly A De, a delegate from Lai Chau province.

In terms of professional qualifications, there are 5 delegates with master's degrees, 39 delegates with university degrees, 17 delegates with college degrees, 15 delegates with intermediate degrees, and 25 delegates with high school degrees.

Of the 133 delegates, 10 delegates are members of the Steering Committee for the establishment of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association; 73 delegates were selected by the Vietnam Youth Unions of provinces and cities; 38 delegates are examples of Shining Vietnamese Willpower Youth in 2024; 12 delegates were appointed.

At the first session, the Congress consulted to elect the Congress Presidium consisting of 7 members; the Congress Secretariat consisting of 2 members; and consulted to approve the Congress program and regulations.

After that, the Congress consulted and elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association, Term I, consisting of 44 members; consulted and elected 5 members to participate in the Association's Inspection Committee.

Immediately after the first session of the Congress, the first Executive Committee Conference of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities, term I, 2024 - 2029, took place.

The conference elected 14 members to the Standing Committee of the Association, Term I; Mr. Pham Van Thanh was elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Disabled Youth, Term I.

Mr. Pham Van Thanh, born in 1983 (Hanoi), is currently the Director of Business Development Center - VTC Technology and Digital Content Company; is a party member, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

In addition, the Conference also negotiated to elect 4 Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities, Term I.

The Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities was established to gather, unite, protect the legitimate rights and interests of youth with disabilities, create an environment and forum to continue to accompany and support youth with disabilities, encourage youth with disabilities to overcome difficulties, strive to rise up, actively contribute to the community, as well as contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; foster a good life ideal for members and youth through stories about typical examples of youth with disabilities in society, thereby promoting the rise of Vietnamese youth; call on the social community to continue to support and accompany Vietnamese youth with disabilities.
