April 24, 2023 10:23

Along with Bau Trang, Ong Dia rock beach, Suoi Tien, Poshanu Cham tower, DT76 road is the "brightest" check-in locations during this holiday in the coastal city of Phan Thiet.

Phan Thiet promises to welcome many tourists to visit and check-in thanks to the new highway.

On the Central Vietnam tourism map, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province is a prominent destination. Currently, the airport is not in operation, so visitors from Ho Chi Minh City must take a car for more than 4 hours to get to Phan Thiet. For visitors departing from Hanoi, the journey is more difficult as they must land in Ho Chi Minh City or Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) and travel another 4 hours by road.

On the occasion of the April 30 holiday, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway will be open to traffic, reducing travel time to only about 2 hours. Many tourists change their plans to go to the coastal city to enjoy the sun and wind, immerse themselves in the cool water and touch their feet on the immense white sand dunes.

Famous check-in locations in the center of Phan Thiet City and suburban areas such as Bau Trang, Ong Dia Stone Beach, Suoi Tien... promise to welcome many tourists to come and have fun and take photos.

Bau Trang

Leaving the center of Phan Thiet City about 60 km to the northeast, visitors will come to Bau Trang. This place has a typical tropical beauty, likened to the Sahara desert of Vietnam with long stretches of white sand interspersed with green coniferous trees, nestled in a freshwater lake full of lotus flowers in the middle. It is these simple outlines of nature that are the reason why many visitors come to Bau Trang.

The immense sand dunes are the "specialty" of Phan Thiet.

Belonging to the Mui Ne flying sand dunes, the sand color in Bau Trang also changes over time. Previously, the sand was yellow, gradually turning white over the years. Up to now, the sand remains pure white. During the monsoon season, the sand will move, creating many interesting shapes.

In addition to wandering around to explore the magical beauty of the sand dunes, visitors can participate in other activities such as sandboarding for 20,000-50,000 VND/board, riding jeeps and ATVs for 300,000-800,000 VND/vehicle or rowing a boat around the lotus lake.

The best time to visit Bau Trang is early morning or late afternoon, avoid going at noon because the temperature is high, which can burn your feet. In addition, when the sun is at its peak, it is difficult to take pictures.

Ong Dia Stone Beach

Located in Phu Hai ward, about 9-10 km from the center of Phan Thiet city, Ong Dia rock beach attracts many tourists because of its wild scenery, rocky outcrops jutting out into the blue sea, and waves forming many shapes all year round.

According to locals, there used to be a rock here that looked quite similar to Ong Dia sitting and looking at the mainland. Since then, the rock beach has been called Ong Dia.

Ong Dia Rock Beach is located close to the coast. When coming here, visitors can walk on the trail with concrete barriers on both sides, feel the salty scent of the ocean or look at the basket boats catching seafood.

In the morning or afternoon, Ong Dia rock beach has its own activities. If you come in the morning, you can freely soak in the sea. The water here is clean, without pebbles and the seabed is low and gentle, with calm waves. In the afternoon, when the tide recedes, it is the best time to see Ong Dia rock beach, the fine sand gradually appears for visitors to walk in the sunset.

In addition, the experience of fishing, catching oysters with the locals and gathering dry firewood to grill right on the sand is also a typical coastal experience, only available at Ong Dia rock beach.

Fairy Stream

In addition to the clear blue beaches, visitors to Phan Thiet can also explore a small stream located on Huynh Thuc Khang Street, Suoi Tien.

Suoi Tien is hidden behind a large sand hill. The stream originates from Dua village, Thien Nghiep commune, flows through Ham Tien ward and empties into the sea with a total length of 1.8 km. The stream is about 10 cm deep, just up to the ankles and has a pink-orange color due to the sand. Sometimes, visitors also encounter strange small whirlpools.

The unique pink-orange color of the spring water impresses many visitors.

The entire natural landscape at Suoi Tien appears like a painting with a harmonious warm and cold color scheme. On one side is a green forest, on the other side are tall red-orange sand dunes, interspersed with white stalactites made from clay mixed with sand eroded by wind and rain.

Stepping into the stream, visitors feel like all their stress is relieved by the smoothness of each layer of sand and the coolness of the water. If going upstream, visitors can also encounter a small waterfall.

Each season, Suoi Tien is beautiful in its own way. However, Suoi Tien is most beautiful in April, May or November every year. At this time, the natural scenery is brilliant, the weather is favorable, so it is convenient for exploring and traveling.

Because the number of tourists coming to Suoi Tien is increasing, the local government needs to spend money to protect the landscape, so the entrance fee for adults is 15,000 VND and for children is 6,000 VND.

Route DT716

When driving through Mui Ne, tourists often see the straight DT716 road, cutting along the vast sand dunes and almost no vehicles passing by. This road is listed as one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Vietnam.

DT716 is one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Vietnam.

DT716 route is famous for its characteristic white sand dunes, stretching along both sides of the road, standing out against the blue sea. Compared to the Phan Thiet - Mui Ne coastal road, DT716 route brings a gentler, cooler look thanks to the green of the coniferous trees mixed with the white of the sand.

Due to the desert terrain, visitors should come here in May, June or July, August when the weather is mild and less sunny. If you go after August, visitors should check the weather forecast to avoid the rain.

Poshanu Tower Cluster

Not simply a work demonstrating the sophistication of Hoa Lai (ancient Champa) architecture, the Poshanu tower cluster is also considered a spiritual heritage of Phan Thiet city.

Poshanu tower cluster is considered a spiritual heritage of Phan Thiet city.

Located on Ba Nai hill, Phu Hai ward, the tower cluster has existed since the late 8th century, early 9th century. Initially, the tower cluster was used as a place to worship Shiva, but later it was called by the name of Princess Po Sah Inư.

The Poshanư tower complex is divided into three towers: the main tower in the middle is 15 m high with the main door facing East, the sub-tower A faces North with a height of about 12 m and the sub-tower B is about 4 m high. Several other small towers in the complex are now in ruins.

The three towers are all built of red bricks, the tower doors are arched, the towers are square in plan and the towers gradually become smaller as they go up. The towers are densely carved with many flowers and typical motifs. Visitors coming here will have the opportunity to admire the thousand-year-old structure, watch art performances and learn about the culture of the Cham people.

Tickets here cost 15,000 VND/turn. Poshanu Tower is open from 5:00 to 17:30, from Monday to Sunday. In addition, visitors can also explore the Ong Hoang Tower relic, about 50 meters from the Poshanu Tower cluster.
