QSis one of the three famous university ranking organizations, alongside Times Higher Education (THE) and Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

This year's ranking includes more than 1,500 universities from 106 countries and territories. Of the nine criteria, academic reputation has the largest weight - 30%, followed by citations (20%). The remaining criteria are school prestige, faculty/student ratio, internationality, international research network, employment outcomes and sustainability, accounting for 5-15%.

This is also the reason why Duy Tan and Ton Duc Thang Universities always have higher positions than other Vietnamese universities on the rankings.

According to the conclusion of the Ministry of Education and Training in 2022, the two schools have many policies to motivate scientific research, spending a large proportion of their revenue on this activity (10-20%). In addition to the research of lecturers, both also signed research cooperation contracts with domestic and foreign scientists. This contributed to increasing the number of international publications and citation index.

Regarding Hanoi National University (VNU), Associate Professor Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy, Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance, said that this year it increased by 100 places due to being highly appreciated in the criteria of Recruitment Reputation (top 472 in the world - 18.7 points) and Recruitment Results (top 202 - 60.1 points, an increase of 49.3 points compared to the previous ranking).

"In addition, VNU still maintains sustainable growth in international publications and maintains a reasonable lecturer/student ratio," said Mr. Huy.

The next four positions remained unchanged, including Stanford University, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich, National University of Singapore and University College London UCL. The California Institute of Technology (CalTech) was the final name in the top 10, up five places from last year.
