In the women's category, there were the following matches: Chi Linh City - Tu Ky, Provincial Military Command - Thanh Ha, Ninh Giang - Binh Giang and Hai Duong City - Kinh Mon. In the morning, right after the opening ceremony, the female players of Chi Linh City, Tu Ky, Ninh Giang and Nam Sach defeated their opponents: Thanh Ha, Provincial Military Command, Thanh Mien and Hai Duong City with the scores of 2-0, 2-0, 2-0 and 2-1 respectively.

In the afternoon of the same day, in the men's category, there were the following matches: Binh Giang-Thanh Mien, Chi Linh City-Kinh Mon, Thanh Ha-Ninh Giang, Nam Sach-Thanh Mien and Hai Duong City-Kinh Mon. In the morning, the men's volleyball teams of Thanh Ha, Nam Sach, Chi Linh City, Ninh Giang defeated Tu Ky, Binh Giang, Hai Duong City and Tu Ky with the scores of 2-0, 2-1, 2-0 and 2-1 respectively.

The volleyball championship was opened by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the morning of June 24, and is the 9th/18 event of the 9th Provincial Sports Festival in 2022. The tournament has 9 districts, towns, cities and the Provincial Military Command. The districts, towns and cities compete in both men's and women's events, the Provincial Military Command only participates in the women's event. The teams are divided into 3 groups, and the teams with the best results are selected to compete in the semi-finals. The tournament will end on June 25.

Volleyball is the last competition in June under the program of the 9th Provincial Sports Festival. In July, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize 3 competitions: athletics, women's football and beach volleyball.
