In the used luxury car market, a rare 2009 Maybach 57S appears at a surprisingly low price compared to the new purchase price. However, this car model is sought after because of its symbolic value.

Maybach is a German luxury car brand that was founded in 1909, with the goal of competing with other famous luxury car brands such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley. However, low sales caused the brand to be sold to Mercedes-Benz in 2014, just like Mercedes-AMG.

Before Maybach joined Mercedes-Benz, many Vietnamese tycoons spent millions of dollars to own the extremely VIP Maybach sedan, from the regular version to the limited edition Zeppelin (100 units worldwide). The Maybach 57S in this article is one of them, currently on sale for more than 8 billion VND.

According to the reporter's investigation, this Maybach 57S is from 2009 and has traveled more than 30,000 km. When buying a new 57S, the Hanoi tycoon had to spend about 1 million USD (equivalent to about 18 billion VND according to the exchange rate in 2010) to own it.

It is estimated that after 10 years, if calculated in Vietnamese currency, the previous owner of the car lost about 10 billion VND, equivalent to 55% of the car's value. If calculated in US dollars, the car's value decreased even more, up to 65%.

After more than a decade in Vietnam, the car's appearance is still basically new due to little use. The car's original license plate 29A remains unchanged. The gloss of the original paint shows no signs of "aging". Chrome-plated details such as window trim, logo, grille, body trim... are all still shiny.

The interior of this rare Maybach 57S shows that the owner rarely used the car. The seats, armrests, steering wheel… all retain the newness and stretch of the high-quality leather, although there are some wrinkles but they are not significant.

Due to the overall length of 5.7 m, the rear seat space of the 57S is significantly smaller than that of the Maybach 62S. The seats are separated by a fixed armrest, integrated with storage compartments, a DVD/CD player and a system of function control buttons. On the back of the front seats there is an entertainment screen, but it is not a touch screen.

Some of the standard equipment that can be mentioned on this car model include a high-end Bose sound system with 21 speakers, an electric sunroof in the front row, 4 multi-directional electric seats with heating mode (the front row has additional cooling)...

Under the hood of the Maybach 57S is a 6.0-liter Mercedes-AMG V12 engine that produces a maximum power of 603 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,001 Nm. Meanwhile, the standard Maybach 57 model only uses a 5.5-liter V12 engine with 543 horsepower. The car can accelerate from 0-97 km/h in under 5 seconds.

With a selling price of more than 8 billion VND, this Maybach 57S is a worthy choice for those who love to collect rare cars. The above price is even higher than the Mercedes-Maybach S450 2024, which is currently listed at 8.2 billion VND. In return, users can own a "genuine" Maybach. From 2005-2009, only 503 Maybach 57S were produced.
