Building Hai Duong University into a key university of the province and region

Pursuant to Decision No. 448/QD-TTg dated April 27, 2023 of the Prime Minister, Hai Duong College was merged into Hai Duong University with the goal of building Hai Duong University into a key university of Hai Duong province and the Red River Delta region. After the merger, the strengths of the two schools have been promoted, the focal points have been streamlined, dynamic and creative, continuing to build Hai Duong University to develop sustainably in scale and quality, gradually affirming its role and responsibility in multidisciplinary and multi-field training of key areas of Hai Duong province and the region, serving the socio-economic development of Hai Duong province and the whole country.

The school's organizational structure has been streamlined: the Party Committee, the School Council, and the Board of Directors have been consolidated; there are 24 affiliated and subordinate units, including 8 functional departments, 11 faculties, 2 centers, and 3 pedagogical practice schools. Regarding the teaching staff, there are 2 associate professors, 44 PhDs, 195 Masters; 15 PhD students and dozens of lecturers preparing to participate in the 2024 doctoral training entrance exam; more than 50 lecturers are studying for a second university degree in English.

The school is training in the fields of economics, engineering, pedagogy, social sciences and humanities... including 2 master's degrees, 18 university degrees, 1 college degree in early childhood education, and is preparing to open 5 more university training majors. In 2023, the school's enrollment results for college, university and master's degrees met the target: pedagogy majors enroll 1,200 students; economics - engineering majors 450 students, social sciences and humanities and master's degree majors 150 students. The current scale is over 4,000 students, with more than 2,500 students in practice schools.

To achieve this result, the school has implemented a variety of admission methods: direct admission; considering the results of the high school graduation exam, admission based on high school academic results, combined admission and conducting many admission rounds during the year, to increase opportunities for learners; training and granting certificates according to professional title standards for teachers, IT certificates, chief accountants... The school actively cooperates with prestigious training institutions such as: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi National University, Foreign Trade University, National Economics University... domestic and foreign enterprises. The school focuses on improving the quality of training combining learning with practice, diversifying training types, providing convenient services for learners, scientific products, and technology transfer to meet social needs.

The school has 4 training facilities: the southern urban area of ​​Hai Duong city in Lien Hong commune; No. 42 Nguyen Thi Due, Thanh Binh ward; Tran Ich Phat street, zone 8, Hai Tan ward; Tien Trung, Ai Quoc ward (all in Hai Duong city) with a total area of ​​over 30 hectares. Hai Duong province has planned to invest more than 100 billion VND in the period of 2024 - 2025, to gradually ensure the conditions of facilities, classrooms, training equipment, digital transformation needs in 2024, and modernize the school's facilities and equipment in the following years.
