There were many difficulties and challenges that affected the activities of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association during the 8th Congress term. In early 2020, the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, affecting many activities of the association. In 2021, the association's leadership changed when the association's President asked to transfer jobs and a member of the association's Executive Committee retired. The strong development of digital technology has both created convenience and posed many challenges for the professional activities of the branches and affiliated clubs...

With the attention of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee, the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has quickly consolidated and strengthened its organization in terms of quantity, focusing on professional journalists with deep expertise and high prestige; focusing on gathering and uniting branches, clubs, and members to synchronously, creatively, and effectively implement many solutions to improve the quality of activities.

Along with continuing to pay attention to political education, ideology, and professional ethics, every year, the Provincial Journalists Association strengthens the organization of training sessions, thematic talks associated with professional activities, and field trips to help cadres and members accumulate many lessons and experiences to serve professional activities. The Association successfully hosted the Regional Conference of 8 provinces in the Northern Delta with the theme "Journalism and the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation", advised on the successful organization of the 5th Nguyen Luong Bang Journalism Award (2016-2020 period)... The Association's Standing Committee has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee and coordinated the organization of the annual Spring Press Festival. In particular, the association has proposed and advised the provincial leaders on merging the annual Press Award organized by the Provincial Journalists Association with the Nguyen Luong Bang Press Award (every 5 years) into an annual provincial press award, with the common name "Nguyen Luong Bang Press Award" organized by the Provincial People's Committee, starting from 2024.

Every year, the association does a good job of collecting and selecting members' works to participate in the national press awards. In the past 5 years, Hai Duong has had 2 authors or groups of authors winning the National Press Awards, 1 author winning the C prize of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Award...

To date, the association has 6 branches and 2 journalist clubs, with a total of 195 members. Although the number of press agencies has decreased significantly after implementing the press planning, the number of members has not decreased because in the last term, 50 more members were admitted, an impressive number.

Following the direction of the superiors, the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has led and oriented its branches and journalist clubs to proactively adapt, promote digital transformation, create new developments in professional activities, affirm that the press is a bridge between the Party, the State and the people; is a leading force, promptly reflecting developments in all aspects of social life, the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the people; discovers and encourages new factors, typical advances in society and achievements in the innovation process...

The role and position of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association have been gradually enhanced. Press agencies in the province have increasingly innovated in many aspects, fulfilling well the assigned political tasks.

The protection of the right to practice legally, care for the material and spiritual life of members continues to be of interest to the Provincial Journalists Association through the organization of many exciting and useful sports playgrounds, contributing to improving health, solidarity, exchange and learning between press agencies in the province and the resident press agency in Hai Duong. The humanitarian and charity work coordinated by the association is effective, creating many good impressions, contributing to helping many people in difficult circumstances in life, building a good image of journalists in the East.

Innovation, creativity

In the next 5 years, many important and meaningful events will take place for the country and the locality, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. The tasks set for the activities of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association are very large.

The Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has identified its goals and directions for the 2023-2028 term as: “Innovation, creativity, solidarity, improving the quality and efficiency of the association’s activities, building a team of Hai Duong journalists with courage, steadfastness, bright mind, professionalism, humanity, contributing to building Hai Duong increasingly rich and civilized”. Many goals, tasks, and solutions were proposed by the Association’s Executive Committee for discussion and decision at the 9th Congress.

Along with actively building and consolidating the organization, the association will maximize the attention and support of all levels and sectors to operate effectively, enhance its position in participating in the management and direction of local press, and effectively carry out the tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee. Focus on improving the quality of Party building work. Do a good job of coordinating and advising the province to continue to innovate and improve the quality of press agencies' operations; build a streamlined and efficient journalism team, keeping up with the trend of digital-age journalism, "professional, modern, humane" in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress...

The Provincial Journalists Association strives to have 100% of its branches and clubs meet strong standards every year. 10-15% of its journalist members complete their tasks excellently. The Association builds a comprehensive electronic information website; advises and organizes the implementation of the annual Provincial Press Awards. Each year, 15 high-quality press works are selected to participate in the National Press Awards and press awards organized by central ministries and branches...

To achieve the above goals and directions, each press agency in the province and all members and journalists need to continue to strive to overcome difficulties, strengthen solidarity, improve political qualities, professional ethics, professional qualifications, regularly practice, fulfill well the social responsibilities and civic duties of journalists, and actively contribute to the implementation of local political tasks. Only then will we be worthy of the trust of the Party and the love of the people in the province, contributing to building the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association to truly be a "common home" of journalists, together contributing to the development and prosperity of the homeland.

Promoting the spirit of dedication and passion for the profession of senior members

As a member of the Hai Duong Senior Journalists Club, having been involved in many stages of the development of the provincial press, I have seen the Journalists Association grow stronger and stronger, attracting more members to join. The branches and press clubs of the Provincial Journalists Association are also constantly innovating their methods of operation, improving the qualifications and professionalism of their members.

The 9th Congress of the Hai Duong Journalists Association for the 2023-2028 term poses many opportunities as well as challenges for development. I hope that, in the face of the constant movement of modern journalism, the Provincial Journalists Association, especially the leaders, will arouse the spirit of striving and dedication of each member. The Executive Committee will boldly organize movements to gather and unite members.

Help Hai Duong press transform digitally more strongly and effectively

During the past term, the province's press agencies have strongly transformed digitally following the flow of the 4.0 industrial revolution. Many agencies have actively applied new technologies, developed multi-platform, multi-media press products; innovated the way of making newspapers. Especially with the motto "where readers are, there is the press", press agencies are interested in developing journalism on social networks, meeting the requirements of widely disseminating official information. One of the key directions and tasks of the 2023-2028 term is to improve the quality of members in a streamlined and efficient manner, keeping up with the trends of modern journalism.

To achieve the above goal, in the new term, I hope that the Provincial Journalists Association will pay attention to improving the professional skills of its members, especially in accessing technology, new, professional and modern ways of working in line with the digital transformation trend. Organize professional training courses, invite lecturers and experienced journalists to directly convey content related to multimedia journalism to members in a "hands-on" manner; organize field trips to visit effective digital transformation models in the local press. Thereby meeting the increasing demands of readers, audiences and listeners.

During the past term, the press agencies of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association have done a good job of propagating and promptly and fully reflecting current affairs, politics, economics, culture - society, and national security and defense issues of the province. The Journalists Association has coordinated with the agencies directing and managing the state press in the province to ensure that the press operates in accordance with the law, meets the people's information needs, and contributes to the good implementation of the local political tasks.

Organize more activities to improve the spiritual life of members.

I hope that, in the new term, the Provincial Journalists Association will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, organize many competitive activities, cultural and artistic movements, physical education and sports, creating a useful playground for members and reporters who do not have much time to participate in movement activities and exercise.

To build a cultural press agency, it requires not only exemplary members to perform their professional duties well, properly implement the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State, and agency regulations and rules, but also to invest in improving their spiritual life. The Provincial Journalists Association needs to organize or coordinate more movements, especially sports and cultural competitions and exchanges, to encourage members to boldly participate in health training, improve their spiritual life, and help reduce pressure, so that each cadre and reporter can work more effectively.

Focus on developing skills and expertise for young members

In the new term, I hope that in the face of the challenges of press innovation, the Provincial Journalists Association will pay attention to improving the professional skills of its members, especially young members and members at district-level radio stations. Create conditions for members working at local radio stations to exchange and learn professional skills from other members inside and outside the province, thereby confidently working, meeting the requirements of continuous development of modern journalism.

The Provincial Journalists Association needs to have more mechanisms to encourage members to produce quality, diverse, attractive journalistic works that reflect the breath of life and the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, towards building Hai Duong journalism as professional, modern and humane.
