Model new rural commune in education Co Dung

Prioritize the career of cultivating people

We returned to Co Dung when the commune had just held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition for achieving the model new rural standards in 2023.

At Co Dung Primary School, the 3-storey, 12-room classroom building with a total investment of 14 billion VND is under construction. Not far from this building are rows of classrooms, multi-purpose halls, covered swimming pools... which have been invested in synchronously and spaciously before. The school campus is more than 13,000 m2 wide, planned spaciously, with harmonious and friendly landscape...

Right next to the primary school, the 2-storey, 4-room classroom building of Co Dung Secondary School is in the final stages of completion. The 540m2 multi-purpose building worth about 4 billion VND of this school has also just started construction. It is expected that by the end of November, the school will be inspected and evaluated to meet level 2 standards.

"The cause of educating people here has always been given special attention by the Party Committee, the government, and all classes of people. The resources invested in building facilities for all three schools are very large, but the commune always gives priority," said Nguyen Thi Que, Principal of Co Dung Secondary School.

The leaders of Co Dung commune informed that for many years, the locality has mobilized all resources to invest in infrastructure for 3 educational institutions, fully meeting the requirements of Circular No. 13 of the Ministry of Education and Training. 2/3 schools have now met level 2 standards.

In addition to the resources invested by the State, many businesses, children living far from home and people from all walks of life always support the cause of education. Typically, Khanh Hoa VN Company Limited has donated a garage and a music room to Co Dung Primary School with a total value of nearly 900 million VND.

Awakening the tradition of learning

Co Dung is one of the places where the tradition of learning is always promoted. Many families, despite their difficult economic conditions, still try their best to send their children to school.

The movement to encourage learning and talent has developed widely in the community and clans. Up to now, the whole commune has 6 doctors, over 40 masters and many successful bachelors in many fields.

All three schools in Co Dung commune are educational institutions with the emulation movement "good teaching, good learning" in the top of the district. Teacher Le Thi Mai Lan, Principal of Co Dung Primary School, expressed her pride that for many years, the school has always been the leading unit in the primary school sector in the district in many emulation movements.

This school has excellent teachers at the district and provincial levels almost every year. The number of students participating in competitions and exchanges organized by various levels and winning prizes is also impressive. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 43 students winning national prizes. In the past 3 years, the school has continuously achieved the title of excellent labor collective, receiving certificates of merit and emulation flags from superiors. "The quality of education is growing steadily thanks to many reasons, but the core is still from the tradition of studiousness," said Ms. Lan.

Every year, Co Dung Secondary School has 80-85% of students admitted to grade 10 public high schools, many of whom are admitted to Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted. For many years, the school has always been in the top 3 secondary schools with the highest rate of students admitted to grade 10 public high schools in the district. There have been some years when the school has been in the top 20 secondary schools with the highest rate of students admitted to grade 10 public high schools in the province.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Que said that there are two factors that help the school maintain its outstanding achievements: having a team of dedicated and creative teachers and staff, and people from all walks of life who always value education.
