Volvo EX90 sets opening date, converted price nearly 2 billion VND

The Volvo EX90 was launched in late 2022 and was scheduled to go on sale in mid-2023. However, the need to perfect the Lidar software (advanced radar that supports self-driving) forced the company to delay the launch date. By early December, Volvo confirmed that the 2025 EX90 would officially go on sale in early 2024.

The EX90's equipment has also been revealed by Volvo. The lowest version, called Twin Motor Plus, has the signature Thor's Hammer LED headlights, gloss black trim and 20-inch alloy wheels on the outside. Rain-sensing wipers and a fixed panoramic sunroof are also present.

The interior of this version combines a 9-inch dashboard with a 14.5-inch central screen, supporting Google software suite and wireless Apple CarPlay.

Some of the equipment available on this version includes 8-way power front seats, heated front/rear seats, power-folding third-row seats, head-up display, wireless phone charging pad, 14 Bose speakers, heated steering wheel, wood trim, 4-zone automatic climate control. Users can upgrade the second-row seats from armchairs to premium single seats for $500.

The Volvo EX90's safety suite, even from the entry-level trim, is nearly comprehensive. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist/Lane Departure Warning, Collision Avoidance Steering Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Automatic Road Sign Recognition, and Lidar-based Intelligent Drive Assist (a major reason for the car's slow launch) are just a few examples.

The more premium version of the Volvo EX90 is called the Twin Motor Ultra. It adds soft-close doors, air suspension, massaging front seats, multi-layer side windows, welcome lights, 21-inch wheels, and a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system.

Regardless of the configuration, the Volvo EX90 uses a 111 kWh battery by default with a dual drive motor with a capacity of 402 horsepower, 769Nm of torque for a range of 485km. Volvo allows updating additional operating parameters through the Performance package, pushing the vehicle's parameters to 496 horsepower/909Nm.

The starting price of the Swedish SUV is confirmed to be $76,695 (VND 1.86 billion). This figure is, in fact, one and a half times higher than the starting price of the XC90 in the same region (USA), but is still within reach if only considering electric vehicles. In addition, the standard equipment of the car is also very good at this price range.
