Artists give advice for art creation competitions in Hai Duong city

Comrade Tran Ho Dang, Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee, briefly introduced the history and unique cultural features of Hai Duong.

On the afternoon of June 9, the People's Committee of Hai Duong City held a meeting of the Organizing Committee of art creation competitions towards the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong (1804-2024) and the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation (October 30, 1954-October 30, 2024).

The leaders of Hai Duong City People's Committee introduced to the artists the city's more than 200-year-old historical tradition, one of the four oldest urban areas in the North, the unique features of Thanh Dong in the past, Hai Duong today, and expressed their hope that the artists would actively respond to the creative contests to highlight the unique features of Thanh Dong in the past, Hai Duong City today. The press and artistic works responding to the contest will contribute to widely promoting the beautiful image of Hai Duong City to all regions of the country and internationally, thereby spreading love for the city, spreading beautiful images, living environment, favorable investment and business environment...

Among the four writing contests, the "Hai Duong - My Beloved City" Writing Contest is the only one in the journalism category. The contest is organized by Hai Duong Newspaper in collaboration with Hai Duong City People's Committee. To respond to the contest, right after the launching ceremony, from May 22 to now, Hai Duong Newspaper has selected and published 2-3 works responding to the contest each week. This is also the contest with the earliest works and authors responding to participate.

The remaining 3 competitions include: Competition to create sculptures associated with the urban space of Hai Duong city, which is civilized, friendly and safe; Competition to compose songs about Hai Duong city and Photo contest and art photo exhibition "Old Dong Citadel - Today's Hai Duong city".

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Vietnam Musicians Association, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists contributed many opinions on the time for receiving works, judging prizes, and some contents in the contest rules to ensure copyright; ways to promote the contest to spread and attract a large number of artists to participate; organizing field trips for authors should be associated with the occasions of festivals and special events of the city...

The leaders of the City People's Committee have received and shared more information: to promote the competitions, the Organizing Committee has sent official dispatches to all Literature and Arts Associations of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and has so far received responses from all units. In order for journalists and artists to have the opportunity to access the reality and understand more about Hai Duong City, the City People's Committee plans to organize delegations to visit some typical and representative places in the economic, cultural and social fields of the city for authors outside the province (in need) at the end of June.
