The story of model Ngoc Trinh once again shows that artists and celebrities need to set an example in implementing civilized standards of behavior and respecting the law.
In recent days, the story of model Ngoc Trinh being temporarily detained and awaiting prosecution for a ridiculous act while participating in traffic has been posted on social media, attracting much attention. Through this incident, it shows that the standard behavior of artists, especially famous people, is worth pondering.
On October 6, Ngoc Trinh rode a motorbike in a "circus" manner on the road through the high-tech zone in Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City). Not only did she perform dangerous driving, in an offensive posture, without wearing protective gear, kneeling on the saddle, letting her hands go... she also recorded a video and posted it on social media promoting this act of disrespect for the law. The videos quickly spread on social media, negatively affecting security, order and social safety, negatively impacting the awareness, lifestyle and behavior of young people. Ngoc Trinh also did not have an A2 driver's license. The large-displacement motorbike that was thought to cost billions was actually an illegal, stolen motorbike. Even when summoned by the police, she said she did not imagine that she had violated the law so seriously!?
Ngoc Trinh once made a shocking statement: "I am beautiful, I have the right." But not every artist or beauty has the right to ignore ethical standards and the spirit of respecting the law.
Ngoc Trinh's story shows that it is necessary to thoroughly apply the Code of Conduct for Artists issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism two years ago. The Code is considered a standard measure of behavior of artists in their profession, with colleagues, the public, audiences in the press, media, cyberspace or when participating in other activities... But it seems that this Code has not been effectively applied in the past two years. Somewhere there are still artists and celebrities who have substandard behavior in communication, behavior, lifestyle... creating bad public opinion, affecting those who are truly active in the arts and the story of the model above is an example.
As a public figure, you must be aware of proper behavior, convey positive values, and especially obey the law, helping the community and those who love you to comply with those regulations. Building a good image in the eyes of the public is not easy and cannot be done well overnight. Therefore, artists should not lose their image in the hearts of the public. Each person needs to become a "cultural ambassador" of the locality and, more broadly, the entire Vietnamese people. Currently, most celebrities have a media team and management company. This is an inevitable trend towards professionalism. When celebrities are no longer limited to the domestic scope but also abroad, their communication skills must follow international standards.
In Korea, there is a school that trains artists in cultural behavior and communication. Many Korean artists, in order to debut in front of the public for the first time, have to undergo years of training with a professional and rigorous curriculum.
In early June 2023, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province issued the "Criteria for civilized behavior in public places in the province". The criteria are a measure of the behavior of organizations and individuals in public places. This is also one of the specific tasks to build "Civilized, studious and aspiring Hai Duong people" in the spirit of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and Program No. 22 - Ctr/TU dated August 19, 2021 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on "Promoting the cultural values of the Eastern region to build Hai Duong people to meet the development requirements for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030".
Not only famous people who have influence on the community, each person needs to comply with and implement the rules of conduct well to become cultured citizens.
