Bentley Vietnam has just announced a new recall of 18 Flying Spur cars in the Vietnamese market to inspect and replace the rear entertainment screen bracket.
Customers bring their recalled vehicles to an authorized Bentley center for free repairs.
According to the latest press release from Bentley Vietnam, the car company decided to recall Flying Spur models manufactured from October 23, 2020 to December 17, 2022 for inspection and replacement.
Bentley Vietnam confirmed that the number of vehicles subject to recall is 18. All of these vehicles will be inspected and repaired according to the announced recall program.
According to the automaker, the affected Flying Spurs may have a problem with the mounting bracket that holds the rear entertainment screen in place on the front seats. This part may have been installed in the wrong direction during the manufacturing process. This could result in the rear entertainment screen not being properly secured, affecting the protection of the occupants in the event of a collision.
This is a recall program that the press reported related to more than 8,000 Bentley Flying Spur cars worldwide at the end of May. Currently, this super luxury sedan model is being recalled in Vietnam, as part of a worldwide recall. Distributor CT-Wearnes has also notified the Vietnam Register of this recall and has been approved.
CT-Wearnes said the recall will run from July 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024. The inspection and replacement work is expected to take about an hour per seat and will be at no cost to customers.
The Bentley Flying Spur is the top-of-the-line four-door luxury grand tourer from the famous British car manufacturer. This model currently has 3 engine options: W12 6L, V8 6L and new hybrid engine. The price of the car ranges from 16-20 billion VND, competing with rivals in the segment such as Mercedes-Maybach S680 (15.9 billion VND), Lamborghini Urus (14.9-16.5 billion VND) or Rolls-Royce Ghost (~30 billion VND).
