On the afternoon of October 20, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai chaired a meeting with party committees, 4 offices, party committees, agencies, and organizations in the Central region.
At the meeting, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai acknowledged the efforts of the Party committees, 4 offices, Party committees, agencies and organizations at the Central level that have contributed to important results in various fields in the third quarter and the first 9 months of 2023. Ms. Truong Thi Mai emphasized that in the last 3 months of 2023, the international and regional situation continued to develop in a complicated and unpredictable manner. In the country, in addition to achievements, opportunities and advantages, there are also many limitations, weaknesses and many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, agencies, levels and sectors need to focus on performing a number of tasks well.
Central agencies and organizations resolutely and effectively implement the resolutions and conclusions of the 8th Central Conference of the 13th tenure; carefully prepare the contents of the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly. Deploy the development of the working program of the Politburo and the Secretariat in 2024. Maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, promote economic growth; remove difficulties and obstacles, support businesses and people to boost production, business, and export; promote safe and healthy operations of the real estate and bond markets... Strongly promote the disbursement of public investment capital, especially large and key national projects. Promote the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods. Strengthen disease prevention and control; strictly handle violations of food safety; proactively prevent and combat natural disasters, floods, droughts, and saltwater intrusion; and effectively implement social security.
Focus on leading and directing the acceleration of progress, completion of investigation, prosecution, trial of cases, handling of cases under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee; completing projects and tasks according to the 2023 Work Program of the Steering Committee. Urge party organizations to overcome violations and shortcomings that have been concluded by the Central Inspection Committee and relevant agencies. Ensure national defense and security. Maintain and promote achievements in foreign affairs. Strengthen research and forecast of international and regional developments to have appropriate policies and solutions. Promote the implementation of important foreign affairs activities of Party and State leaders, especially signed agreements; continue to expand and implement relations on the party channel.
The Standing Secretariat also reminded central agencies and organizations to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization of the people; focus on resolving mass and complicated complaints; neutralize plots and intentions of bad elements taking advantage of "hot issues" to incite protests, disrupt security and order, and sabotage the Party and the State. Strengthen the work of preventing and fighting fires and explosions; accidents and injuries. Do a good job of protecting internal politics; step up the fight and effectively handle bad and toxic information on the Internet; effectively fight and prevent plots and intentions to take advantage of "democracy and human rights"...
The Standing Secretariat requested that Central agencies strive to fulfill their assigned functions and tasks with a proactive, creative, dedicated and thoughtful spirit; actively discover good issues and new factors, proactively propose and recommend solutions to overcome limitations, remove difficulties and obstacles; focus on researching and selecting major, important and urgent contents and issues related to their agencies' fields to propose for inclusion in the Working Program of the Politburo and Secretariat in 2024.
Information at the meeting showed that in the third quarter and the first 9 months of 2023, in the context of the world and domestic situation having many difficulties, challenges, and being much more complicated than forecast, our country has achieved many important results in many fields. The macro economy is basically stable; inflation, public debt, government debt, foreign debt, and state budget deficit are controlled; major balances of the economy are guaranteed. Economic and industrial growth have gradually recovered. The work of building and perfecting institutions, mechanisms, and policies to remove difficulties for production and business has been promoted. Many long-standing problems have been focused on removing and handling, initially achieving positive results.
Attention has been paid to investment and development in the cultural and social fields; social security has been ensured; people's lives have been improved. Party building and the political system have been focused on. The work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity has continued to be promoted. National defense and security have been consolidated and enhanced; political security, order and social safety have been basically maintained. Foreign affairs activities have been vibrant and continuous and are a highlight of 2023, affirming Vietnam's role, position and international prestige. However, the resolution of some difficulties, obstacles and bottlenecks in socio-economic development is still slow and incomplete.
Some issues of concern emerged during the quarter: The incident in Dak Lak. Several fires and traffic accidents caused great damage to people and property, especially the fire in a mini apartment building in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi. Several very tragic murder cases, causing anxiety and insecurity. Food poisoning still occurs. Cybercrime is increasing and becoming more complex and sophisticated...
