Organizing drug inhalation in a car, a young man in Thanh Ha received 8 years in prison

On the morning of September 26, the People's Court of Thanh Ha district tried a criminal case of illegal drug use, sentencing Nguyen Van Dung (born in 1998) to 8 years in prison; Nguyen Van Quyet (born in 1989, both in Thanh Hong commune, Thanh Ha) to 7 years and 6 months in prison; and Dang Thanh Trung (born in 1993, in Hai Duong city) to 30 months in prison.

Previously, on the evening of July 3, Dung asked Quyet to contribute 200,000 VND, and Dung contributed 1 million VND to buy drugs for use. Because he knew Trung, Dung called Trung to ask to buy drugs. Trung agreed and told Dung to come to the front door of house number 84, Tran Phu street, Tran Phu ward (Hai Duong city) to get drugs. At about 8:30 p.m. the same day, Dung drove his car 34A-456.71 to the above location to meet Trung. Trung gave Dung the drugs and his bank account number and told Dung to transfer money to the above account the next day. Dung drove to a beer bar in Thanh Hong commune to meet Quyet and Nguyen Van Ba ​​(born in 1990, in the same village) who were drinking beer at the bar. Dung and Quyet invited Ba to use drugs together. After that, Dung drove the car carrying Quyet and Ba to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway access road, Nhan Bau village, Thanh Hong commune, and stopped. At 10:30 p.m. the same day, while the three subjects were inhaling drugs, they were caught red-handed by Task Force 151 of Thanh Ha District Police, who were on patrol duty.

The subjects are all self-employed. Dung has a criminal record and was sentenced in 2022 to 16 months of non-custodial reform for loan sharking. Quyet has an administrative violation for illegal mining. Trung has no criminal record.
