According to a recent study, 63% of respondents said age is not a deciding factor when it comes to finding love. As many as 59% of women are open to dating a younger man.
Globally popular dating app Bumble has made predictions about dating trends in 2024 and one of the prominent trends is that age gap relationships are predicted to skyrocket.
Age gap dating is not a new concept and has caused a lot of controversy in the past.
However, according to a recent study, 63% of respondents said age was not a deciding factor in their search for love.
In particular, 59% of women said they were open to dating a younger man.
Relationship expert Dr Caroline West said the findings were interesting. It seemed people were no longer taking traditional rules too seriously when looking for their ideal partner.
When you dare to let go of your preconceptions, you can have new experiences. And who knows, you might actually find “the one” in the land outside that safe boundary. Don’t try to box the right person into a limited standard that Dr. West calls “a little box.”
“My partner is 33 years older than me,” said Emma Flint, a reader of The Independent. “He’s 65, I’m 32. And I couldn’t be happier.”
Of course, there are also many worries when starting an age gap relationship, but Emma believes that people should not be too prejudiced or quick to judge.
“This is unfair to couples who sincerely love each other,” she said.
