Thinking that her lover was having an affair with another girl, Trang planned to kill him with cyanide. Then, Trang drove the body to Bao Loc pass, then drove the car down the cliff to destroy the evidence.
Lam Dong Provincial Police said today (October 25) they are continuing to coordinate with relevant units to take statements from Nguyen Tran Thu Trang (39 years old, residing in Dong Thap province) to clarify the motive for murdering her lover with cyanide.
According to information, Trang has feelings for a man named V. (39 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City). Recently, a conflict arose between the two because Trang thought her lover was having a relationship with another girl. In a fit of jealousy, the subject planned to kill this man with cyanide.
Around the end of August, Trang went online to buy this poison. After receiving the "goods", Trang kept it at her residence. This woman also tested it by mixing a small amount into cat food. After eating it, a few minutes later, the cat died.
On the afternoon of October 20, while driving from Dong Thap to Ho Chi Minh City with her lover, Trang used cyanide to kill the victim. After that, this woman drove the car back to her rented house in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The suspect kept the man's body for one night before disposing of it.
The next morning, Trang drove to Lam Dong to find a way to dispose of the body. She circled Bao Loc Pass many times to find the location.
At noon on October 21, while driving on Highway 20 through Dai Lao Commune, Trang drove her car down a deep ravine of Bao Loc Pass “with the intention of committing suicide”. After the crash, the car was deformed and Trang was injured and was taken to the hospital by police.
Lam Dong Provincial Police examined the scene and requested the Institute of Criminal Science and Technology (Ministry of Public Security in Ho Chi Minh City) to coordinate the investigation of the case. Authorities determined that the traces at the scene and the man's body showed that the cause of death was not an accident.
