The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has just announced that a senior leader of the Hamas Islamist movement in Tulkarm in the West Bank, Mr. Zahi Yaser Abd al-Razeq Oufi, was killed in an attack by this force.
In a statement, the IDF said Oufi was the mastermind and commander of the car bomb attack in the Ateret settlement on September 2 this year. He is also believed to have supplied weapons to a large number of Hamas fighters in the area, and planned and commanded a large number of attacks against communities in the West Bank and locations in Israel.
According to the statement, in addition to leader Oufi, several other important Hamas fighters in Tulkarm were also killed in the IDF attacks.
