Thanh Mien affirms the quality of key education

Students from Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School account for more than 50% of the students in the 9th grade excellent student team competing at the provincial level in Thanh Mien district.

In this exam in the 2022-2023 school year, Thanh Mien had 63 students winning prizes, including 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 28 third prizes and 24 consolation prizes. In the 2020-2021 school year, the locality also ranked third in the province in terms of team rankings. This result not only affirms the solid foundation of Thanh Mien's key education, marking the efforts and adaptation of teachers and students in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, but also creates motivation for schools to improve the quality of education.

Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Mien district said: "In the education development strategy, we always determine to ensure the quality of mass education and focus on solutions to improve the quality of key education". From there, the district has directly directed the work of creating resources from schools, selecting teams, consulting on teaching programs and supporting the search for teachers to train the team.

Every year, the locality focuses on recruiting students for grade 6, especially Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School, ensuring that excellent grade 5 students are attracted to the school. Each secondary school establishes teams of excellent students, assigns qualified and capable teachers, and creates the best conditions to train each team. After selecting the best students to form 8 teams of excellent students of the district, the Department of Education and Training directs the schools to do a good job of propaganda so that parents can cooperate and accompany them in promoting the spirit of learning of the students.

The enthusiasm, creativity, innovation, and dedication of the teaching staff in nurturing excellent students have a decisive influence on students' achievements, so the Department of Education and Training has directed Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School to select teachers with good expertise to take charge of the teams. The District People's Committee has mobilized and rotated teachers to meet the requirements of nurturing excellent students; built competition criteria, in which the criteria for excellent students are emphasized; and focused on investing and supporting additional funding for nurturing excellent students.

In the 2022-2023 school year, out of 80 students in the district's 9th grade excellent student team competing at the provincial level, Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School has 42 students. Teacher Nguyen Van Binh, Vice Principal of Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School, said that the school's teaching staff is very dedicated, experienced and has good expertise, contributing significantly to the above achievements. In particular, students in the teams in recent years have been very passionate about learning.

To provide students with a good learning environment, Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School has actively advised the District People's Committee to invest funds to fully meet the needs of classrooms, functional rooms and teaching equipment. Students living far away are provided with places to eat and rest at school. With the attention of the district, each year the school invests from 50 to 80 million VND to promptly reward and encourage teachers and students with excellent achievements during the school year.

Teacher Pham Ngoc Thuy (Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School) in charge of training the 9th grade team of excellent students in literature said that each teacher assigned to the team proactively develops a specific training plan and method. More importantly, teachers must instill a passion for learning, helping students understand the meaning and nature of the subject. "With literature, in addition to mastering the theory and characteristics of each type of essay, I also teach students that literature not only helps them understand and perceive the value of life but also helps them to illuminate and improve themselves, thereby creating creativity to achieve high scores in the exam," said Ms. Thuy.

Winning first prize at the provincial level in the 9th grade biology competition for the 2022-2023 school year, Pham Anh Duong (Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School) shared that the secret to studying is to set specific goals and plans to achieve those goals. "Although biology is quite dry and difficult to learn, I have determined my goal of becoming a doctor, so I have applied many learning methods to realize my dream," Duong said.

In addition to the efforts of the teachers and students, the attention of the Party committees and local authorities has contributed significantly to the district's key education quality achieving the above results.
