On the afternoon of July 8, I received a phone call from 0887271... informing me that I would receive a free gift because I had purchased through the Shopee application. They gave me another phone number to add Zalo to receive a list of product codes. After adding Zalo, this phone number instructed me to download and install the Telegram application to confirm the gift. At about 5:00 p.m. the same day, the item was delivered to my address.

When I opened the Telegram app, I found myself in a group managed by TN. The way the group works is that the manager shows a picture and asks people in the group to guess what word it is (similar to the game "Catch the picture and the word" of Hanoi Radio and Television). The person who answers correctly will be given 50,000 VND in their account. The manager requires that when receiving the money, take a screenshot and send it to the group. Many people in the group do this.

Through talking with some people working in the police force, I learned that this is a form of fraud. There are many ways to play, such as playing word guessing games, liking, watching videos or investing... At first, the group will pay in full to make the players excited. After that, they will ask for real money to facilitate the exchange, buying and selling... Because the players have received the money, they are quite trusting, but when a large amount of money is transferred, the other side will cut off contact.
