On November 30, Tay Ninh Provincial Police said they were temporarily detaining Lam Van Phi Ho (born in 1993, residing in Tan Cuong Hamlet, Tan Ha Commune, Tan Chau District) to investigate the act of murder.
Previously, at around 10:50 p.m. on November 28, at Cat Coffee Shop (Truong Luu Hamlet, Truong Dong Commune, Hoa Thanh Town, Tay Ninh Province), Lam Van Phi Ho used a knife to attack Ms. TTKT (living in Truong Luu Hamlet, Truong Dong Commune, Hoa Thanh Town) due to a conflict. Although her family took her to the emergency room in time, Ms. T died shortly after due to severe injuries. After committing the crime, Ho quickly fled the scene.
Upon receiving the report, Hoa Thanh Town Police deployed forces, coordinated with professional units of the Provincial Police to organize a crime scene investigation, autopsy; and at the same time organized a quick pursuit of the subject.
During the investigation, on November 29, Hoa Thanh Town Police coordinated with professional units of the Provincial Police, Tan Ha Border Guard Station (Tan Chau District) and Cambodian authorities to arrest Ho while he was hiding in MeMot District (Tbong Khmum Province, Cambodia).
Initial investigation determined that the reason Ho used a knife to attack Ms. T, leading to her death, was due to a love jealousy conflict.
Hoa Thanh town police have handed over the subject to the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Tay Ninh province to continue investigating and handling according to the provisions of law.
