On the morning of January 24, the 9th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, term 2019-2024 took place in Hanoi.
Attending the Conference were: Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, central agencies and seniors, members of the Presidium, members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The Conference was chaired by Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Vice Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Huu Dung, Hoang Cong Thuy.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien said that, along with the country's great achievements, in 2023, the Front system at all levels continued to innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing strongly on the grassroots, achieving many important results, especially 10 outstanding events voted by the Front system from the grassroots.
At the Conference, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front reviewed and approved the draft report on the results of the Front's work in 2023, the Program for coordination and unified action in 2024 of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Draft political report of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Draft personnel plan of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Plan of delegates to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Report of the Presidium on personnel work.
Emphasizing that these are very important contents, Mr. Do Van Chien respectfully requested the delegates to promote democracy, concentrate their intelligence, uphold responsibility, and contribute many dedicated and accurate opinions so that the Presidium can absorb and complete the documents to successfully organize and implement them in 2024.
At the Conference, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha presented a Submission requesting comments on the draft Report on the results of the Front's work in 2023 and the Program for coordination and unified action in 2024 of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Reporting on the results of the Front's work in 2023, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that with constant efforts, proactiveness and creativity, the Front at all levels has overcome all difficulties, successfully completed its tasks with 10 typical events and activities. Notably, the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW, dated November 24, 2023 on "Continuing to promote the tradition and strength of great national unity, building our country to be increasingly prosperous and happy".
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presided over and coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department and the National Political Publishing House Truth to publish the book "Promoting the tradition of great national unity, building our country to be increasingly rich, civilized and happy" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. This is a valuable work in terms of ideology, theory and practice. Immediately after its launch, it had a widespread influence and was welcomed and highly appreciated by cadres, party members and people of all walks of life at home and abroad.
Along with that, the Politburo issued many important documents related to the organization and operational apparatus of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Party Central Committee Secretariat issued Directive No. 22-CT/TW on leading the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term with many important new points.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a campaign to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces, towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). Up to now, 5,000 houses for poor households in Dien Bien province have been basically completed, 3 months ahead of schedule...
Emphasizing that 2024 is the year when the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee completes the implementation of the Resolution of the Congresses at all levels, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels will focus on choosing priorities and strongly innovating the content and methods of operation. Therefore, the Presidium asked for the Committee's opinions to focus on discussing a number of key tasks, including focusing on implementing preparations and organizing the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to ensure the requirements according to Directive No. 22-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on leading the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029; mobilizing people to compete in studying, working creatively, successfully implementing the goals of economic, cultural and social development, maintaining national defense and security; organizing and implementing social security activities; gratitude activities
"Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council on launching the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" from now until 2025 and requesting the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and relevant agencies to organize the implementation; practically make achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification and welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the term 2025 - 2030; the Vietnam Fatherland Front coordinates with the Government to launch the Campaign "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" to promote the spirit of national solidarity and humanity, mobilize all resources to complete the program of eliminating dilapidated houses for 100% of poor households nationwide", Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha informed. In addition, the Front continues to organize activities aimed at residential areas, researching and piloting the construction of self-governing residential areas of solidarity, prosperity and happiness.
At the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai informed about the socio-economic situation in 2023 and the direction for 2024. The Conference also heard an important speech by Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai.
