In front of Kien Trung Palace, Hue Imperial City, a magnificent stage with nearly 6,100 seats is being rushed by hundreds of technical staff and workers to complete the final steps.

The stage of the main programs of Hue Festival Week this year is designed with an area of ​​over 1,500m2 with many areas combining traditional and modern features. In addition to the arrangement of raised and rotating floors in accordance with the artistic script of the program director, the stage also has two large lotus ponds in front, creating a floating and beautiful feeling for the audience. Notably, this is the first time the stage has been designed with the backdrop of Kien Trung Palace - the most magnificent architectural work of Hue Citadel, which has just been restored. However, the ground here is not flat, there is a large lake in front, so the construction work is quite difficult. The criteria set during the construction process are not to affect and strictly protect the current status of the relic.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, representative of the stage construction unit - Lac Viet Media Services Joint Stock Company, said that the workers had to try to overcome all conditions with the help of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to create a stage installation area. With a large amount of work and urgent time, the unit "raced against time" working from early morning and working overtime through lunch to ensure the progress of the program's general rehearsal on the evening of June 5.

The stage completion process encountered many difficulties when the Hoa Binh Gate (Hue Imperial City) was narrow, restricting trucks transporting equipment in and out of the Kien Trung Palace area. To avoid affecting visitors, the construction unit had to carry out the transportation at night.

Up to now, the stage in front of Kien Trung Palace - where the opening program, Trinh Cong Son's music night and the closing ceremony of the week will be performed - has completed about 90% of the work and has been inspected for safety. The sound and lighting equipment items serving the "party" of laser, Led Matrix, Hologram, 3D Mapping projections have basically met the plan. In addition to the stage at Kien Trung Palace, high-quality traditional and contemporary art programs from 8 countries from different continents will be performed every night at two other stages in the Hue Imperial City, Thai Binh Lau and Thieu Phuong Garden.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue Province Nguyen Thanh Binh, the Organizing Committee and related units will strengthen inspection and review of the final stages to well implement the activities of the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024. The main activities of the week will take place in the royal palace space, using the relic sites as performance spaces, lighting. promises to create a sparkling, eye-catching art party, imbued with the cultural identity of the ancient capital of Hue. With this approach, the public will feel the festival atmosphere as soon as they set foot in the Hue Imperial City.

Director of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien - Hue province Nguyen Van Phuc said that accommodation establishments in Hue city have basically completed preparations to welcome guests during the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024. Room occupancy rate reached 55 - 65%, while large hotels in the center of Hue city had slightly higher numbers. The province expects the number of visitors to the locality to increase by about 20-30% compared to the same period in 2023. The event takes place for a long time while the trend of tourists booking rooms close to the date is the reason for this reality. However, the establishments are ready to welcome, upgrade facilities, and service quality to serve tourists. Under the direction of the Department of Tourism, the Provincial Hotel Association has agreed to apply appropriate prices and not increase prices on this occasion.

According to Ms. Fournier Sophie Charlotte, General Manager of Melia Vinpearl Hue Hotel, the forecasted room occupancy rate during Hue Festival Week 2024 is about 65%. To prepare for this peak period of guests, the hotel has shared the specific program of the Week with the staff to proactively introduce it to interested guests.

The Tourism Department of Thua Thien - Hue province has actively connected and introduced provinces and cities to design more activities and tours to bring visitors to experience the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024. Accordingly, many tourists are really interested in the programs of this week with the Da Nang to Hue tourist train, especially the Trinh Cong Son music night (taking place on the evening of June 9).
