By mid-October, Thanh Hong commune (Thanh Ha) had basically completed the grapefruit harvest.
Thanh Hong grapefruit output this year reached about 2,100 tons.
The total grapefruit output of the commune this year reached about 2,100 tons, 250 tons higher than in 2021. Due to the good harvest, the selling price was only 10,000-12,000 VND/fruit, 2,000-3,000 VND lower than the previous crop. However, consumption was quick and smooth. Currently, grapefruit growers in Thanh Hong are focusing on cleaning and sanitizing their gardens, pruning old branches to prepare for a successful grapefruit crop next year.
Thanh Hong commune has about 130 hectares of grapefruit, mainly grown in Lap Le village with 90 hectares. The locality has planned 3 concentrated grapefruit production areas with an area of 80 hectares and over 40 hectares have been granted VietGAP certification. Grapefruit begins to be harvested from the 7th lunar month.
In recent years, farmers have invested in caring for grapefruit trees, applying many new technical advances in production, along with favorable weather, so productivity and quality are high. Thanh Hong's peach grapefruit is mainly consumed in major markets such as: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and some southern provinces.
