Samsung Electronics said the new Neo QLED 8K TV is equipped with the 3rd generation 8K AI processor, the most powerful processor among all Samsung TV processors to date.
Samsung Electronics will launch a new line of televisions with built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI), organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV displays, and Neo QLED - a new QLED TV equipped with mini LED backlight technology, with advanced AI features to provide a better viewing experience for users.
Samsung Electronics President and Head of the TV Display Business Yong Seok-woo announced at a press conference on March 13 that Samsung has held the largest market share in the global TV market for 18 consecutive years from 2006 to 2023 and is moving towards the trend of high-end and super-large-sized AI TVs.
To achieve that goal, the company has launched a new line of AI-integrated TVs, ushering in the era of AI TVs. According to Yong Seok-woo, the new AI TVs are equipped with powerful AI chips, secured by Knox on-device security solutions, and will play an important role not only in enhancing new viewing experiences for customers but can also act as the center of the AI home, connecting other devices.
Samsung Electronics said its new Neo QLED 8K TVs are equipped with the 3rd generation AI Processor 8K, the most powerful processor of all Samsung TV processors to date, with processing speed twice as fast as last year's generation. This allows low-resolution videos to be upscaled to 8K quality, resulting in clearer picture quality.
In particular, this TV line also supports the AI Motion feature, automatically detecting and adjusting fast movements such as the movement of the ball in a soccer match, helping viewers experience better sports matches.
In terms of sound, the new TV features Active Voice Pro, which uses AI technology to detect volume differences between different content, separate and amplify voices so that conversations aren't drowned out by ambient noise, and optimize sound by detecting external noises like vacuum cleaners.
Samsung's OLED TV line uses OLED Glare Free technology to reduce light reflection and improve image quality during the day. Equipped with a 2nd generation 4K AI processor, OLED TVs can upgrade low-resolution videos to 4K quality through the 4K AI upscaling feature. In addition, the OLED HDR Pro function also adjusts brightness through AI, maintaining deep blacks.
Samsung Electronics will launch 27 Neo QLED models in seven sizes ranging from 43 inches to 98 inches in the Korean market from March 15. For OLED TVs, 10 models in five sizes ranging from 48 inches to 83 inches will also be launched on the same day.
