The book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has just been published in 7 foreign languages, with 11,000 copies of paper books and e-books.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia welcomes the idea of translating General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's book into 7 languages.

This set of books in 7 languages: English, Chinese, Lao, Russian, French, Spanish and Dutch was chaired by the Central Propaganda Department, in coordination with the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work and the National Political Publishing House Truth to organize the announcement and introduction ceremony on the afternoon of May 19.

Previously, the book Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam (Vietnamese version) was introduced to readers in February 2022, on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

To date, the number of copies printed and distributed of this version has reached nearly 30,000.

Research on translating into other languages

According to the book's publisher, immediately after its release, the book received positive reviews and widespread attention from public opinion at home and abroad.

Through Vietnamese embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, the book has attracted deep interest from researchers, scholars and readers of many countries.

That is the basis for the idea of organizing the translation and publication of this book in foreign languages, initially in 7 major foreign languages.

In addition to domestic agencies and experts, the project to translate and publish this book into foreign languages also received support and cooperation from native experts from Laos, China, Canada, Cuba, Russia, etc.

In parallel with publishing more than 11,000 paper copies in 7 languages, providing them to foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies and organizations both at home and abroad, the Truth National Political Publishing House also launched an electronic version, serving readers for free on the website www.stbook.vn.

He acknowledged the efforts of the team of prestigious experts and translators from major agencies and ministries; and local experts.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department directed the National Political Publishing House Truth to coordinate with relevant agencies to research and evaluate the level of public interest in other countries about the book, in order to continue to make proposals for translating it into other foreign languages.
