Brilliant border sim flowers in Mong Cai

This is an activity identified by Mong Cai City as a highlight for the summer tourist season.

The 2023 Border Sim Flower Festival opens with a flower and incense offering ceremony at the Po Hen National Historical Site - a memorial site for the soldiers of Po Hen Station 209 (now Po Hen Border Guard Station, Quang Ninh Border Guard) who heroically sacrificed their lives to protect the country's borders in 1979 - 1980.

Thousands of tourists have come to Hai Son to experience the beauty of sim flowers - a border flower.

Coming to this year's festival, visitors can experience folk games and enjoy unique cuisine of local ethnic groups; visit the mural village of Dang hamlet and "check-in" at the sim hill blooming with purple flowers. Hai Son is an area that still retains many natural sim trees, some of which are several meters high along the border patrol route. During the sim flower blooming season, the Northeastern border area seems to be wearing a new coat with a vast purple color...
