Quang Ninh inaugurated phase 1 of Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda project

On October 25, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province coordinated with Co To district to organize the Inauguration Ceremony of Phase 1 and put up a signboard for the Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda.

The construction of Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda started on October 9, in Dao Tran village, Thanh Lan commune, Co To district, with funding from socialized sources.

This is a project of special significance to spiritual life, social life, national security and defense, and is a cultural and spiritual milestone in the northeastern sea and island region of the Fatherland.

The Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda project has completed phase 1 just in time to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Quang Ninh province.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Co To district, emphasized that Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda is a cluster of cultural and spiritual works built on Tran Island in Thanh Lan commune, Co To district.

The island has an area of ​​4,655 square kilometers, 45 kilometers from the large Co To island. It is an island with a strategic position in terms of national defense and security and the integrity of the national border, likened to Truong Sa in the Northeast.

The construction of this project on the island not only meets the spiritual aspirations of the people but also has the meaning of placing a spiritual cultural milestone on the sacred border of the Fatherland like a heroic period of Dong A.

Venerable Thich Thanh Lich, Abbot of Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda, said that despite the difficulties and geographical distance, the project was constructed promptly, ensuring progress and quality.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh province will complete the construction items in the architectural complex of the pagoda as soon as possible so that Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda will be a gathering place imbued with national cultural identity, a place to cultivate truth, goodness, beauty, noble deeds, and practical actions in the work of preserving and protecting the national border territory of the people of Co To island district.

According to the design, Truc Lam Dao Tran Pagoda is newly built on an area of ​​2.72 hectares with 22 main and auxiliary construction items in the ancient architectural style of the Tran Dynasty.

All items related to woodworking, wood and stone structures; brick and tile laying, decorative accessories, furniture, and magical instruments are carried out by skilled artisans and workers on the mainland, and are completely tested before being packed and transported to the island.
