Dinh Cau tourist site (Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc city) always attracts Cambodian tourists to visit and take photos.
On the afternoon of May 28, Ms. Lam Thi Diem Tram - Director of Phu Quoc Pearl Island Tourism and Events Company Limited - said that recently, many Cambodian tourists have visited Phu Quoc. This is also a potential international tourist market, so the company has opened a workshop in Cambodia to find more customers.
"We welcome groups of Cambodian tourists (20-60 people) to Phu Quoc every week. They can freely visit Phu Quoc night market, Dinh Cau or have a tour designed to visit famous entertainment spots on the island," said Ms. Tram.
Mr. Danh Sang - a Cambodian tourist - said: "Phu Quoc has beautiful seascapes. Phu Quoc night market is bustling and sells a lot of food and souvenirs. My family and I came here to play comfortably and really enjoyed it. Phu Quoc is truly a beautiful and attractive destination."
Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that from the beginning of 2023 until now, Kien Giang is estimated to welcome more than 4.9 million visitors, of which international visitors are more than 354,992. Cambodian tourists alone are about 9,145, much higher than before.
According to Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh - Chairman of Kien Giang Tourism Association, the number of Cambodian tourists to Kien Giang is increasing and this is a potential international tourist market in the summer of 2023.
Kien Giang Tourism Association recently organized a Roadshow program to promote tourism "Kien Giang Tourism roadshow in Cambodia" and a business connection workshop with the theme "PhuQuoc - New Destination Of The World" to connect businesses with outbound travel agencies in Cambodia.
"We want to introduce the natural beauty, resources, people as well as unique tourism products of Ha Tien and Phu Quoc to the Cambodian people. This is a golden opportunity for travel agencies to closely cooperate and promote the common development of tourism in the two localities," said Mr. Khanh.
