This move came after social media posted images of lunches for students at Nam Sach Town Primary School costing 17,000 VND but with a “meager” amount of food.

Along with this photo, the poster wrote: "Parents work all day, just hoping to have money to pay for school and raise their children. Today, seeing their children's lunch, my heart aches..."

Mr. Pham Quang Dai, Principal of Nam Sach Town Primary School, confirmed that this was the lunch for boarding students on November 3, but the photo was taken at the end of the meal. At this time, many students had almost finished their meal. That day, the menu included crab soup with jute, bean sauce with tomato, braised pork roll and sesame salt.

The leaders of Nam Sach District People's Committee worked with the school and parents to report the incident and determined that this photo was taken when the students' meal was almost over, so the amount of food looked a bit small. However, the district's stance is that if there is a violation, it will be strictly handled.

The district also requires Nam Sach Town Primary School and other local schools not to put food for children in shared bowls or cups. Schools must use trays to divide meals equally for each student.
