The song "Missing Phu Yen" by author Nguyen Manh Thang, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, has just won first prize in the music category of the Phu Yen Province Literature and Art Composition Contest.
At the Phu Yen Province Literature and Art Composition Contest to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the province's re-establishment (July 1, 1989 - July 1, 2024), Comrade Nguyen Manh Thang, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, won first prize in the music category with the song "Missing Phu Yen". He is also the only author from Hai Duong to receive an award at this contest.
The song "Thuong nho Phu Yen" was set to music from the poem "Ve vien Phu Yen" composed by Nguyen Manh Thang after a visit to Phu Yen in 2005. The song has a soulful, affectionate melody, expressing the love and the close bond, the lasting friendship between the two provinces of Hai Duong and Phu Yen. The simple, familiar lyrics have helped the author express his love and affection for the land and people here.
The literary and artistic composition contest to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the re-establishment of Phu Yen province was launched from April 27 to June 7. Although it took place in a short time, the contest received the attention and response of many professional and non-professional artists nationwide. The organizing committee received more than 640 entries from 132 authors in the following fields: literature, music, photography, fine arts, theater, and dance. The organizing committee judged and awarded 70 prizes to outstanding works.
