Issuing the stamp set 'Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army'

On December 18, the postage stamp set 'Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024)' was decided to be issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications and coordinated with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to organize a special issuance ceremony in Hanoi.

Speaking at the event, Mr. La Hoang Trung, Director of the Postal Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that the postage stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day is a continuation of the postage stamp sets that the information and communications sector has issued.

This postage stamp set continues to make a small contribution to convey to international friends and peace-loving people around the world the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, which has been, is and will always be an army 'Born from the people, fighting for the people'.

According to the Stamp Department, Vietnam Post Corporation, the stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day includes 4 designs measuring 43 x 32 mm, with face values ​​of 4,000 VND, 4,000 VND, 4,000 VND and 15,000 VND, respectively.

Designed by artist Nguyen Du in a concise graphic style, with consistent content and images, arranged in chronological order, the stamp set is provided on the postal network from December 18, 2024 to June 30, 2026.

Artist Nguyen Du said: The stamp set represents the history and heroic tradition in the struggle for national independence and the modernization journey of the Vietnam People's Army.

The layout of the stamp set is designed to highlight the main meaning of each stamp. The logo commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army is arranged throughout the stamps.

“The human element is the main focus of the stamp set; only with brave, courageous and loyal soldiers can independence be achieved. Protecting the achievements of many previous generations who shed blood and sacrificed, and preserving and developing them is also the main task of the Vietnam People's Army,” shared artist Nguyen Du.

In which, model 1 - 'From the people, fighting for the people' shows the image of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army Team established with 34 team members, together with local armed forces and people, carried out the General Uprising to seize power in the August Revolution of 1945, won national independence, and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Model 2 - 'Determined to fight, determined to win' has a prominent image of the liberation army soldiers and the soldiers advancing, ready to overcome the rain of bombs and bullets to fight and win against the enemy. The stamp model shows the strength, fierce fighting spirit; the offensive stance, the determination to win of the soldiers who are steadfast for the Fatherland.

The background of the second stamp depicts the resounding victories of the Vietnam People's Army, from the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 to the Great Spring Victory in 1975 and the National Reunification Train, arranged in historical order.

Model 3 - 'Ready to fight to protect the Fatherland' has the central image of soldiers representing the three main military branches of the army, navy and air force of the Vietnam People's Army in a position ready to fight to protect the Fatherland.
