After the National Assembly dismissed Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from his position as Chairman of the National Assembly, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man was assigned to run the activities of the National Assembly until the National Assembly elects a new Chairman.
On the afternoon of May 2, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong informed about the assignment of operations of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly.
Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee assigned Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to direct the activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly until the position of Chairman of the 15th National Assembly is completed according to regulations.
This afternoon, the 7th extraordinary session of the National Assembly passed a resolution on the dismissal of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from the position of National Assembly Chairman, member of the National Defense and Security Council, and the termination of his duties as a National Assembly deputy for the 15th term.
Mr. Tran Thanh Man was born in 1962, in Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province; PhD in Economics.
He was a member of the Party Central Committee of the 10th (alternate), 11th, 12th, and 13th terms; Secretary of the Party Central Committee of the 12th term; member of the Politburo of the 13th term; and a National Assembly delegate of the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms.
Mr. Tran Thanh Man has many years of working for the Youth Union in Hau Giang and Can Tho. Since July 1994, Mr. Tran Thanh Man has been the Chief of Office, then Vice Chairman and Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee.
Mr. Tran Thanh Man spent more than 4 years as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee before holding the positions of Vice Chairman, then Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In April 2021, Mr. Tran Thanh Man was elected Vice Chairman of the National Assembly by the 14th National Assembly.
In July 2021, he was elected by the 15th National Assembly to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and was then assigned to serve as Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly until now.
