The B-class high-chassis model adds the standard Luxury version, changes equipment, keeps the same 1.5 engine, priced at 539 million VND.
At an event of Chinese car manufacturer Omoda & Jaecoo - a subsidiary brand of Chery Group, Omoda C5 Luxury was introduced to the Vietnamese market on March 21 in Ho Chi Minh City. Luxury is the standard version of C5, alongside two more advanced versions introduced at the end of November last year, including Premium and Flagship.
Specifically, the C5 Luxury costs 539 million VND, the Premium version costs 589 million VND and the Flagship costs 669 million VND. The starting price of the C5 is only 1 million VND higher than its compatriot Geely Coolray (launched on the same day as the C5 Luxury) with a price of 539-620 million VND and the MG ZS with a price of 538-638 million VND.
The standard C5 Luxury version is equipped with halogen headlights combined with T-shaped daytime running lights. The diamond-patterned frameless grille creates a highlight. The body has embossed lines running vertically, increasing aerodynamics. Two-tone 17-inch rims. LED taillights are connected together, the rear bumper is rugged, sporty style.
The interior design of the standard C5 uses leather and soft plastic. The center console focuses on the driver, highlighted by a 10.25-inch dual-screen cluster, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and voice control.
Omoda equips the C5 Luxury with a 1.5 engine with 111 horsepower and maximum torque of 138 Nm. While the two high-end versions use a 1.5 turbocharged engine. The CVT gearbox remains unchanged. The car is equipped with MacPherson front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension, along with FWD front-wheel drive.
The safety features of the C5 Luxury are standard equipment with ABS/EBD/BA brakes, electronic balance, hill start assist, anti-slip, downhill assist...
Similar to the two previously launched versions of the C5, the standard Luxury version has a 7-year or 1,000,000 km vehicle warranty. The engine warranty is 10 years or 1,000,000 km (whichever comes first).
According to Omoda & Jaecoo, the C5 Luxury has a preferential price of 499 million VND for the first 555 customers who deposit from March 21 to April 30 and will receive a free 2-year or 20,000 km maintenance package (whichever comes first).
The appearance of Omoda C5 Luxury with competitive price has made the B-class high-chassis car segment more exciting. Vietnamese consumers have more options that fit their budget. However, to compete fairly with rivals, Omoda needs to prove the quality and durability of its products.
